SHORTLY AFTER THE DEATH OF LEGENDARY WEST COAST RAPPER, MAKAVELI, DR.DRE STARTED A NEW RECORD LABEL CALLED AFTERMATH ENTERTAINMENT. RIGHT AFTER HE LAUNCHED AFTERMATH, HE HEARD AN UNDERGROUND CD (INFINIT) FROM A WHITE RAPPER IN DETROIT WITH CRAZY SKILLS ON THE MIC. HIS NAME WAS MARSHALL MATHERS, BUT CALLED HIMSELF M&M. THERE WAS A FREESTYLE RAP COMPITITION AT A LOCAL CLUB IN DETROIT, AND MARSHALL ENTERED & ACHIEVED SECOND PLACE. UPSET FROM HIS LOSS IN THE FINALS, HE DECIDES TO WALK OUT WITH HIS PRIDE. HE DIDN›T KNOW YET BUT THOSE BATTLES WOULD CHANGE HIS LIFE. ON HIS WAY OUT HE WAS APPROACHED BY THE LAST GUY HE WOULD EVER THINK TO SEE.
