The worst part is that this betting menace seems have been there even in some of the earlier editions but has come to light only now. It is all clearly due to the crores that are poured into the tournament without any limit. And, unfortunately, betting may not stop with just betting, but will lead to spot-fixing because once someone places a bet on a certain aspect of the game, he will be interested in winning the bet somehow and here comes spot-fixing through willing players whom professional bookies are able to lure.
