Can’t live without books! Afternoon Despatch & Courier

A book is the only place in which you can examine a fragile thought without breaking it, or explore an explosive idea without fear it will go off in your face. It is one of the few havens remaining where a man’s mind can get both provocation and privacy. ~Edward P. Morgan The worth of a book is to be measured by what you can carry away from it. ~James Bryce There is a great deal of difference between an eager man who wants to read a book and a tired man who wants a book to read. ~G.K. Chesterton If there’s a book you really want to read but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.~Toni Morrison A good book has no ending. ~R.D. Cumming Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers. ~Charles W. Eliot Always read something that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it. ~P.J. O’Rourke I know every book of mine by its smell, and I have but to put my nose between the pages to be reminded of all sorts of things. ~George Robert Gissing A book is like a garden carried in the pocket. ~Chinese Proverb

movies we watch, makes us relate to them easily and quickly. Reading books just gives a man the calmness and peace which is needed in a world like ours. That feeling when you’re at the end of a book...and your heart is racing as to wanting to know desperately how it will end and what effect it’ll have on you is just plain different. After you finish it that’s the only thing going on in your mind for a long time

and no other thoughts even come to your mind. That is the happiness for which I read books. Books can change the mood of a person, inspire him to such an extent that he forgets who he is and transforms him into a totally new person, also they bring out the feelings in you that you thought you never had and most of all they make your mind and heart as imaginative as ever.

Some Nights by FUN

New indie-pop kids on the block, FUN have been topping the charts lately. The pop anthem, ‘Some Nights’ is just not an upbeat tune but also poses a very important question through its lyrics. Most iconic lines of the song being, ‘Oh Lord, I still don’t know what I stand for’ which some would say expresses the existential angst of a youth who is quite a long way from home.

As the band is American, it’s very possible they’re talking from the perspective of American soldiers in Iraq/Afghanistan. It’s a great listen, full of energy and some cool afrobeats thrown in as well.

the animation industry, and finished with a lively question and answer session. In an informal session with the parents Curtis Jobling stressed on the need

for parents to inculcate in their children the habit of reading, which will increase their knowledge and sharpen their creative skills, which unknowingly may lay dor-

mant within the child. Curtis inspired many of the kids to read his books and spent a lot of time autographing and doodling books from the Wereworld series.
