Our History

In 1946, John Kinder opened his first meat market in the Northern California. By the mid 1980’s, Kinder’s became a popular neighborhood meat market, deli and catering company and the only place in the Bay Area to buy a Marinated Ball Tip (for at home cooking) and Famous Marinated Ball Tip Steak Sandwich. Over the years Kinder’s has developed a proprietary collection of custom prepared meat products, BBQ sauces, marinades, rubs and spices. Kinder’s has won various awards and accolades for Best BBQ Sauce and Custom Meats in 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2008 & 2009. Kinder’s strong foundation is a result of 63 years of customer satisfaction, quality products, creative thinking, and affordable prices. Three generations of hard work and family pride have perfected the Famous Ball Tip. To date, over 5 million people have enjoyed the Kinder’s Ball Tip in their 15 restaurants and various sporting venues throughout California and Nevada. The recipe is still the same today as it was when created by Grandpa Kinder more than 60 years ago.
