President’s Letter You have to live it to love it. Haven’t we all always enjoyed the obvious draws – friendship and fun – of Greek life? Sure we have, because they’re what initially attracted us to join our groups as wide-eyed collegians. Then we learned all the aspects of being in a sorority – sisterhood, service, scholarship, leadership, personal growth, etc. It’s certainly very easy to embody “sorority” when you’re on campus eating, breathing, and sleeping as an “insert your letters here” girl. But this group that we joined, this organization of women, this sisterhood – wow, it’s not just for four years of school, it’s actually for a lifetime. My whole lifetime and your whole lifetime. And the lifetimes of all our Founders and the lifetimes of all the young women currently in school, and so on, God willing. As women who have been out of school for years, with more years yet to come, how do we continue to be sorority women? Our Founders knew the answer.

and appreciation for your service to CAPA and for your support of me. I needed it! Thank you for living “sorority” and for showing me that Panhellenic is my “sorority” too – one that I’ve joined for a lifetime to live and to love. In the bonds, Jennifer

You live it. You live it by being involved with your alumnae chapter, by volunteering to chair a committee or hold an office, by advising a collegiate chapter, and of course, by representing your chapter as a Panhellenic delegate or alternate delegate. There are probably more ways to live “sorority” as an alumna than there are as a collegian. As you’re living it, the how of being “sorority” becomes the why. Why do you still do this “sorority” thing? Because you love it. How do you love it? You’re involved. You live it because you love it, and you love it because you live it.

All of this is not to say that being “sorority” is sunshine and rainbows 24/7. Nobody ever said it would be. What we were told was that sisters would support you when it was stormy. We took that to mean just the sisters of our own sorority. How short-sighted! What I’ve learned this past year is that my sisters wear all the Greek letters, from Alpha to Omega, not just three Deltas. This note is not capable of expressing the depth of my gratitude
