Community Events Chronicle August 2013

Volunteer Appreciation We have a lovely young lady who began volunteering at Kennebec Manor by the name of “Katie Kinney”. She has been volunteering since May and is quite shy but has found a place in the hearts of our residents. Our activity co-coordinator has found her to be an excellent help with various activities and outings. Katie just graduated from Millidgeville North and will be going to St. Malachy’s High School in the fall. She lives at home with her parents and a younger brother and sister. We are sure she’s a great role model for them. Her passion is singing. She is taking voice lessons and has been singing since she was around 2 or 3 years old. Some of her favorite songs are from Disney movies, Ariel & Katie Kinney Pocahontas. She also is interested in theatre. Katie hopes to be a surgeon one day and also wants to do some travelling, especially to Portugal. Thank you for all you do and may God bless you as you endeavour to fulfill your dreams.

Still Going Strong at 100 Betty MacLaren turned 100yrs old on July 11th, but according to her, ”I don’t know, but I don’t feel 100.” She didn’t look 100, decked out in a new blue print dress, hair perfectly set and glossy red nail polish. Betty enjoyed a party with her family, friends and two of her daughters, Fran & Lois. She received various certificates including one from Trevor Holder on behalf of the NB Government. Betty is very social and tries to attend any activities the home has, especially BINGO! God bless you as you continue to grow old gracefully.
