Topic: Being beautiful in your business and representing what you are selling inside out Be Your Own Business’ Image Model First impression counts, a lot. The usual downfall of small businesses, especially in dealership and retailing, is that the owners or partners themselves fail to project the right image to the market. Not because you own the business, you now can appear as lousily as you’d wish in front of your customers. In fact, it should be the other way around. You must be the very image of a successful entrepreneur in order to gain the trust of your market. In other words, nobody would want to do business with somebody who looks like a loser. Be beautiful. Being beautiful does not necessarily mean you have to have the looks and style of Victoria Secret models like Heide Klum or Miranda Kerr. It means looking your best and being confident in doing so. How you behave and look would reflect on the products or services you are selling. Prospective customers would, subconsciously, judge the effectiveness of your product by just looking at you. If you are selling beauty products, then you should look well groomed. In the same way you should look welldressed if you own a boutique. Being beautiful need not be expensive. As long as your clothes are presentable and you act with confidence, then you’re a certified beauty. Be personable. No matter how elegant or glamorous you may look, it won’t count if you act snobbish and snotty around your customers. Remember, your business will be nothing without them. Greet customers with a smile and a friendly greeting. May they be there to purchase your products or complain about your product, talk to them genially and be understanding. Treat them with respect but also do not grovel. The picture of a beautiful entrepreneur is not only having a great appearance, but most of all, having a great personality. You need not get celebrities to represent your business. You, yourself, can be an effective endorser if you only know how to act and dress. Always remember that how you conduct yourself will have a great impact on whether you will gain or lose customers. You will never be a soughtafter therapist or consultant if you cannot control yourself or if you act scandalously. Neither can you sell your cosmetics if you under or overapplied them.
As the cliché goes, beauty is not only skindeep. And it should not only be skin deep. Your cosmetics and expensive clothes will be worthless as a pile of trash if you do not have the right attitude. Be presentable and most especially, be personable.
