AutoCAD for Architecture

NAIT Dormitory This project was created exclusively in AutoCAD. I was tasked with taking original design plans and create working drawings and bring the design up to 2014 Alberta Building Code Standards. We created a full set of drawings; Floor plans, Elevations, Building Sections, Wall Sections, Plan Details, Section Details , Interior Elevations and Enlarged Floor plans, and Door & Window Schedules. Shown here are the Main, 2nd & 3rd Floor plans and eight building section details.

THE FINAL PROBLEM I was tasked with preparing industry standard details of a single story, low-sloped roof structure based on proposed construction of the building. I then had to add any other elements to this wall structure to make it weather proof. I was given Load Bearing Wood Frame as the Structure; Glass Fibre Batt Insulation; Polyethylene Vapour Barrier; EIFS Exterior Finish; and Gerkin 5500 Series Vinyl Window.

Branch Energy Company The objective of this project was to take the base plan that was used previously for the eighth floor of an office building and add demountable walls, custom feature walls, custom feature arches, custom boardroom credenza, custom boardroom table, furniture, and finishes. Door, Millwork, and Finish schedules are included in the working drawings for Branch Energy Company. This project meets all the 2014 Alberta Building Code requirements. The images shown are the Reflected Ceiling Plan, Ceiling Details, Elevations of the Boardroom, Front Entrance, Custom Feature Wall, Custom Feature Arches and Section of the Part Height Wall.

ATM Bank Design The objective of this project was to design a bank and a community space within the Quarters district of Edmonton as a revitalization plan. My inspirational word was Growth, that is reflected with the design of my building, my community day care, and the quarters district.

Vicky’s Bistro This project was created exclusively in Revit as a group project. We were tasked with creating a design solution for a restaurant in partnership with CK Designs to create a Persian themed wine bar with a capacity of 80 people. As a member of a group my tasks were communication with the client, aide in rendering, material, lighting and, furniture specification, note all report documents such as, perspectives and elevations. Shown here are the booth and wine cellar perspective, table seating perspective, bar perspective and the floor plan.

Wildrose Community Center This is an Interior Design Project where I used iRender to complete the renderings of the central hub perspective and the reception perspective. The floor plan was used AutoCAD and Photoshop to create this rendering. My concept for the space was Collaboration as I wanted to have members of the community to treat this space as a place for learning and interacting. This design complies to the 2014 Alberta Building Code as we took these designs to working drawings and created a complete construction package.

Smart Residence Complex Software: SketchUp, Enscape, & Photoshop

For this project I was the Team Lead for a design team that was comprised of Architecture Technology, Interior Design Technology, Information Technology, and Alternative Energy Technology. We were tasked with designing a multi-family residential building that has a maximum square footage of 6000. The design had to be smart, sustainable, and secure located in Central Edmonton that integrated innovative technologies. This building complies with the 2014 Alberta Building Code and the 2015 National Energy Code of Canada. Shown here are the main and second floor plans, front exterior perspective, and back exterior perspective. The design competition was over the course of five months to create this building with deliverables that were presented to a panel.
