Ceremony Site Vista Ridge Ceremony Site, nestled in a secluded mountain valley and accessed by chairlift or shuttle, offers a stunning 180-degree mountain view. The site is framed with wildflowers in summer, golden aspen in fall, and snowy peaks in winter. As guests watch, the bride enters through a tunnel of thick aspen trees to her mountaintop ceremony. This space includes rental and setup of white wedding chairs for a ceremony of up to 250 of your friends and family, and lift tickets for each of your guests to take a memorable ride to extraordinary views. Mountain yurt is available to the bride or groom and his or her entourage for staging and pictures before the wedding ceremony. It is located at the top of Vista Ridge and is a short walk from the ceremony site. Have champagne and a fruit tray delivered to the yurt for you to enjoy while relaxing and rejoicing in the company of your wedding party before heading down the aisle. Mountain Lodge is a charming modern space in which to host your reception of up to 250 guests. The stone fireplace and large windows provide a cozy mountain feel and offer a simple canvas for whatever wedding theme you’ve imagined. The space also includes use of the outdoor deck for drinks, appetizers, or dancing under the stars. The fire pit and lawn area below the deck can also be used by you and your guests for fun yard games or tasty s’mores. 8350 is a beautiful lounge and bar space that we offer to smaller weddings of 50 or less guests and for rehearsal dinners and brunches in the spring and summer. This private club on the third floor of Base Camp Lodge has a built in bar, lounge or table seating, and an inviting and warm stone fireplace. This intimate setting offers large windows with great views and a private deck.

Granby Ranch Wedding FAQs


What is included in the Venue Site Fee? The ceremony site includes welcome signage, ceremony chairs, a platform for the wedding couple, PA for ceremony music/ microphone (battery operated and wireless microphone), and lift tickets for all walking guests. We provide a shuttle for up to 12 people to Vista Ridge (top of the mountain) and the use of the Mountain Yurt at the top for staging of the bride and her entourage. The reception site includes 5 hours of time from the arrival of your guests. You may extend the reception past 5 hours, up until 11 p.m., for $450 per hour. It also includes existing tables and chairs, bar setup and all barware, catering setup, cake table, beverage station, plates, silverware, and water glasses at place settings. Table linens and napkins can be provided at an additional cost. We also can provide a dance floor, tent for our exterior deck, round or high top tables at an additional cost.

What is the Venue Site Fee for different days of the week?

Wednesday or Thursday: $2,800 Friday: $3,900 Saturday (or a holiday weekend): $4,800 plus a $6,000 Food and Beverage minimum Sunday: $4,200

How much is the deposit, when is it due, and is it refundable? The deposit is 50% of the site fee and is due along with a signed contract to book your day. The site fee is not refundable or transferable. The remainder of your site fee is due 2 months before the ceremony, and the catering balance is due 14 days before arrival.

How many people can this accommodation hold? Our reception site can accommodate from 50 guests up to 250 guests. For smaller parties, we have an alternate location on site that can comfortably accommodate from 15 guests up to 50 guests.

It rains a lot in the summer, what is your weather plan for the outdoor ceremony? Colorado weather is variable. Your guests are our first priority, so if it is lightning outside we will have a weather delay. We work about an hour of delay time into the day just in case, called Plan B. If it continues to be inclement weather and our lifts are closed then we can have the ceremony in the reception space (with minimal moving of tables), called Plan C.

What time should I expect to have my ceremony? The lifts open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. You can have your ceremony right when the lifts open. Most commonly, we have 3 p.m. ceremonies so we have some delay time built in before the lifts close. We require you and your guests to be off the mountain when the lifts close at 5 p.m. There is an additional charge for any lift or patrol support after our standard closing of 5 p.m.

Is there electricity in the Mountain Yurt to use to get ready?

How much should I expect to pay for catering? Granby Ranch wants to make every part of your wedding day exactly how you dreamed, including your food! The KNOT study of weddings in 2010 averaged catering costs at $61 per guest. Our pricing is comparable to market catering rates, but our quality is absolutely above average. Take a look at our wedding catering menu and ask your wedding sales associate to help you find the right meal for your budget.

Can I move around the layout of the dining room and bring in my own decorations? We help you create a layout that works best for you on your big day. We do allow you to bring in your own decorations, flowers, and so on, but you are solely responsible for putting them up and breaking them down. Decorations must be removed that night after the reception. Any decorations left at the end of the night will be thrown away. The reception area will be ready at 10 a.m. the day of for you to come in and start decorating. Your group has approximately 2 hours to decorate so that our staff can get in to finish the setup and have everything perfect for your party. Please note that nothing is allowed to be attached, taped, or pinned to any of the walls. We have strategically placed hangers on the wall for your use.

Can I use open-flame candles? You can use open-flame candles, but they must be in glass and we ask that whoever is in charge of cleaning them up at night is super careful. If wax gets on the floor, then you will be charged a $100 per hour cleaning fee to remove the wax. LED lights are a great alternative to candles.

Do you have a fire pit we can use during the reception? We have an awesome fire pit and have S’more Kits available for you to purchase for your guests. They can grab a little baggie of all the yummy supplies and a bamboo stick and go hang out by the fire for a late-night snack. The fire pit is available to be lit after 8 p.m., and it is not exclusive to you and your guests since it is enjoyed by all our resort guests. Your S’more Kits would be exclusive to only your guests. The use of the fire pit is dependent on restrictions set by the state/county in the summertime.

Do you provide a wedding coordinator? Granby Ranch will provide staff to coordinate the setup and breakdown for your ceremony and reception site, but does not coordinate decorations, flowers, and delivery of decorations, flowers, music, and so on. Many of our wedding parties choose to hire a wedding coordinator for those details.

Can I book lodging through Granby Ranch?

There is electricity in the Yurt, so you can touch up your hair. There is not a bathroom in the Yurt so we encourage you and your guests to visit the restroom before taking the chairlift. We do have a port-a-potty up top, just in case.

Granby Ranch does not own any lodging, but we are partners with several rental properties that can be reserved for you and your guests through our call center. We have access to Base Camp One, Mountainside, Kicking Horse, Summit, and the Inn at Silvercreek. You may phone our call center at 970-887-5143 with any lodging questions.

Can I bring outside catering or bar service?

We have a wide range of menu options for a buffet or plated dinner along with delicious appetizers and desserts. Can I bring a cake from an outside vendor? Yes! We do not have an in-house baker, but we have a handful of preferred vendors who make beautiful, delicious cakes. There is a cake cutting fee if you choose to have our chef expertly cut and serve your cake. We do require you have a licensed baker.

Do you do tastings? We definitely want you and your families to come and enjoy menu items to choose the best option for your big day (up to 6 people for $40/person). Chef can prepare appetizers, entrées, and side dishes, as well as desserts. We also let you taste from a selection of wines and beers. We do tastings when Granby Ranch Grill is open during the winter and summer season on Thursdays and Sundays. Tastings are done at least 60 days in advance of your wedding. At that time we can guarantee

A 7.9% sales tax, 2.7% resort fee, and 20% service charge will be added to all food and nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages. This industry standard service charge helps cover the costs of doing business: office staff, utilities, office supplies, day-to-day operations, and so on. While our contract shows a breakdown of the event elements and food costs, the service charge helps cover the cost of the hours needed to plan and prepare your event. Keep in mind, a service charge is not the same as gratuity.

EMILY BURGESS, SALES MANAGER Emily has worked in nearly every facet of the wedding business, as photographer, coordinator, and in lodging. She moved to Granby in 2013, after visiting Colorado on her own honeymoon, and she joined Granby Ranch shortly thereafter. Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Kentucky and enjoys exploring Grand County, horseback riding, and hiking with her husband, Brent, and their dog, Caspian.

AMY BUZHARDT, SALES COORDINATOR Amy is an experienced wedding designer, producer, and planner hailing from Charleston, South Carolina. At Granby Ranch she helps brides and grooms create their perfect day by coordinating the details that make each wedding unique. She is a graduate of the College of Charleston and holds a bachelor’s degree in corporate communications, hospitality, and tourism. Amy loves snowboarding, running, and cheering for her favorite college football teams.

CHRIS POPOVICH, EXECUTIVE CHEF Chris has had a passion for food since the age of five, when he would whip up cheesecakes and other treats in his grandmother’s kitchen. He has created amazing wedding celebrations for hundreds of brides and grooms, taking inspiration from Rocky Mountain classics and the unique preferences of his guests. In his spare time, Chris is a musician, snowboarder, and outdoor enthusiast.

HEIKE WILSON, FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANAGER Heike grew up in the ski industry in Washington State and has over 20 years of food and beverage experience. In 1997, she moved to Colorado and found paradise here. She works closely with Executive Chef Chris Popovich and the entire staff to ensure every wedding is perfectly executed. SITE INCLUSIONS • Site fee includes all walking guest lift tickets for ceremony (guests with bikes and/or snow equipment must purchase lift ticket). • All guests must have a lift ticket to ride the chairlift. • Site fee includes shuttle of up to 12 guests to Vista Ridge (weather dependent), and includes use of Mountain Yurt at top for staging of bride and her entourage. • Ceremony site includes welcome signage at base directing guests to lift area, ceremony chairs, platform for wedding couple, site setup/down, PA for ceremony music, and welcome signage inside base directing guests to reception site. • Reception site includes existing tables and chairs, bar setup, catering setup, cake table, beverage station setup, gift table, all other arrangements, according to the approved floor plan, and all place settings, including, plates, silverware, water glasses, and applicable serving pieces and beverage service pieces necessary to complete the approved menu. • Reception site for 5 hours from the scheduled arrival time of the guests from the wedding ceremony • May add additional hours in Reception for $450 per hour up to 11 p.m. • May use Reception room or tent as alternate ceremony site, as long as there is minimal rearrangement of reception setup, floor plan to be preapproved by Granby Ranch. POLICIES AND PROCEDURES Guaranteed Catering Number: Charges that are based on a per person basis. A guaranteed attendance must be communicated in writing to Granby Ranch Sale office 14 days in advance of your event. This guaranteed amount will be charged even if fewer guests attend; however, the catering department will be prepared to serve 3% more than the guarantee. You will be charged for the guaranteed number or the actual number that attend, whichever is greater. A 7.9% sales tax, 2.7% Resort Fee, and 20% service charge will be added to all food, nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages. Pricing for food and beverages is subject to change based upon availability of ingredients chosen and market price. Final costs will be confirmed with client once final guest counts have been confirmed and availability of product is guaranteed. (Please refer to SCHEDULE “A”- Event Details) Alcohol: State law prohibits private individuals from bringing alcohol to the property that was purchased off premises. Granby Ranch Amenities, LLC is the only authorized licensee to sell and serve liquor, beer, and wine on premises. Also, alcohol purchased at Granby Ranch may not be taken off premises. Food: All catering services will be provided on-site by Granby Ranch Catering staff. Granby Ranch Catering Department will work to accommodate any special requests with the exception of wedding/specialty cakes. Granby Ranch Catering staff will work with the event coordinator to coordinate delivery of the cake. Day-of Event Coordination: Granby Ranch Amenity Sales Department will provide staff to coordinate all of the inclusions in the site and venue as it relates to setup and breakdown. Granby Ranch staff does not coordinate decorations, flowers, and delivery of decorations or flowers, music, or other aspects of the wedding that are not included in the site package. Day-of coordination services do not include rehearsal or processional direction. It is recommended that the wedding party consider the option of hiring a wedding coordinator to manage any logistics and/or services not purchased from Granby Ranch.

Final Catering Balance: Final menu selections, final timeline changes, and final guaranteed numbers of guests are due two (2) weeks prior to the event. Other details about the event, outlined in this contract, may be changed if approved by the Sales and Catering Departments. Credit card, check, or cash are acceptable forms of payment of the deposit and final payment of the site fee as well as the final catering payment.

Cancellation Policy: Once a contract agreement is executed by both parties with signatures and site fee deposits, date changes can be made, based upon availability; however, NO REFUNDS of the site fee will be given and the site fee and date are NONTRANSFERABLE to another person or party. Granby Ranch will work with the party to find another date/site on Granby Ranch property that is mutually agreeable and comparably priced to accommodate both parties in the case of unforeseen or unfortunate circumstances or acts of god that would make it impossible to continue the event on the original date or site. Changes in Contract: Any additions or deletions after the signing of contract will be subject to a contract amendment that will reflect the change requirements and prices. Responsible party signing this contract agrees to pay any additional invoice that may go above and beyond the final catering payment, due within two (2) weeks of receipt of invoice but not after the services have been rendered. For summary of event details, which will be determined as the event is planned, please refer to SCHEDULE “A” (Event Details). Severability: If any part of this agreement shall be legally determined to be void or without effect, “the parties” agree that the remainder for this agreement shall continue in full force and effect. Entire Agreement: The terms of this agreement constitutes the entire agreement for the parties, and supersedes any and all representations, agreements or understandings, whether written or oral, between parties AMENDING AGREEMENT: This agreement may only be amended in writing, and agreed to by both parties. (SCHEDULE “A” - Event Details) CONFIRMED AGREEMENT AND PAYMENT SCHEDULE ACCEPTANCE: ______ I understand that alcohol purchased outside of Granby Ranch may not be brought on site, and is not permitted anywhere on Granby Ranch property, including the lifts, the Mountain Yurt, the Base Lodge, and the Base Area. In addition, any alcohol purchased at Granby Ranch may not leave the premises. This would cause an immediate termination of the event due to violation of Granby Ranch’s liquor license. ______ I understand that any personal belongings, decorations, or other supplies brought to Granby Ranch for the event will be taken at the end of the event. Any decorations left on-site at the end of the event will become the property of Granby Ranch and will be discarded. I understand that decorations and supplies are not the responsibility of Granby Ranch. Granby Ranch is a public facility and will not be responsible for lost, broken, or stolen items. ______ I understand that decorations that are used at the reception site are not to be adhered with tape, glue, or any other substance that will cause damage or peeling to the surface adhered. Nails, pins, and hooks that also cause damage are not allowed to be used. No items may be adhered to the walls. ______ I understand that a minimum of $100 per hour will be charged for any clean-up or removal of decorations left behind at either the ceremony or reception sites and for any damage caused by tape, glue, nails, pins, or hooks to repair the damage. ______ I understand that Granby Ranch may implement policies or procedures at any time that may ban fires from being built in our fire pit during events. ______ I understand that mountain weather conditions frequently and dramatically change, and may prevent the transport of guests to Vista Ridge. SITE INCLUSIONS • Site fee includes all walking guest lift tickets for ceremony (guests with bikes and/or snow equipment must purchase lift ticket). • All guests must have a lift ticket to ride the chairlift. • Site fee includes shuttle of up to 12 guests to Vista Ridge (weather dependent), and includes use of Mountain Yurt at top for staging of bride and her entourage. • Ceremony site includes welcome signage at base directing guests to lift area, ceremony chairs, platform for wedding couple, site setup/down, PA for ceremony music, and welcome signage inside base directing guests to reception site. • Reception site includes existing tables and chairs, bar setup, catering setup, cake table, beverage station setup, gift table, all other arrangements, according to the approved floor plan, and all place settings, including, plates, silverware, water glasses, and applicable serving pieces and beverage service pieces necessary to complete the approved menu. • Reception site for 5 hours from the scheduled arrival time of the guests from the wedding ceremony • May add additional hours in Reception for $450 per hour up to 11 p.m. • May use Reception room or tent as alternate ceremony site, as long as there is minimal rearrangement of reception setup, floor plan to be preapproved by Granby Ranch. POLICIES AND PROCEDURES Guaranteed Catering Number: Charges that are based on a per person basis. A guaranteed attendance must be communicated in writing to Granby Ranch Sale office 14 days in advance of your event. This guaranteed amount will be charged even if fewer guests attend; however, the catering department will be prepared to serve 3% more than the guarantee. You will be charged for the guaranteed number or the actual number that attend, whichever is greater. A 7.9% sales tax, 2.7% Resort Fee, and 20% service charge will be added to all food, nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages. Pricing for food and beverages is subject to change based upon availability of ingredients chosen and market price. Final costs will be confirmed with client once final guest counts have been confirmed and availability of product is guaranteed. (Please refer to SCHEDULE “A”- Event Details) Alcohol: State law prohibits private individuals from bringing alcohol to the property that was purchased off premises. Granby Ranch Amenities, LLC is the only authorized licensee to sell and serve liquor, beer, and wine on premises. Also, alcohol purchased at Granby Ranch may not be taken off premises. Food: All catering services will be provided on-site by Granby Ranch Catering staff. Granby Ranch Catering Department will work to accommodate any special requests with the exception of wedding/specialty cakes. Granby Ranch Catering staff will work with the event coordinator to coordinate delivery of the cake. Day-of Event Coordination: Granby Ranch Amenity Sales Department will provide staff to coordinate all of the inclusions in the site and venue as it relates to setup and breakdown. Granby Ranch staff does not coordinate decorations, flowers, and delivery of decorations or flowers, music, or other aspects of the wedding that are not included in the site package. Day-of coordination services do not include rehearsal or processional direction. It is recommended that the wedding party consider the option of hiring a wedding coordinator to manage any logistics and/or services not purchased from Granby Ranch.

Final Catering Balance: Final menu selections, final timeline changes, and final guaranteed numbers of guests are due two (2) weeks prior to the event. Other details about the event, outlined in this contract, may be changed if approved by the Sales and Catering Departments. Credit card, check, or cash are acceptable forms of payment of the deposit and final payment of the site fee as well as the final catering payment.

Cancellation Policy: Once a contract agreement is executed by both parties with signatures and site fee deposits, date changes can be made, based upon availability; however, NO REFUNDS of the site fee will be given and the site fee and date are NONTRANSFERABLE to another person or party. Granby Ranch will work with the party to find another date/site on Granby Ranch property that is mutually agreeable and comparably priced to accommodate both parties in the case of unforeseen or unfortunate circumstances or acts of god that would make it impossible to continue the event on the original date or site. Changes in Contract: Any additions or deletions after the signing of contract will be subject to a contract amendment that will reflect the change requirements and prices. Responsible party signing this contract agrees to pay any additional invoice that may go above and beyond the final catering payment, due within two (2) weeks of receipt of invoice but not after the services have been rendered. For summary of event details, which will be determined as the event is planned, please refer to SCHEDULE “A” (Event Details). Severability: If any part of this agreement shall be legally determined to be void or without effect, “the parties” agree that the remainder for this agreement shall continue in full force and effect. Entire Agreement: The terms of this agreement constitutes the entire agreement for the parties, and supersedes any and all representations, agreements or understandings, whether written or oral, between parties AMENDING AGREEMENT: This agreement may only be amended in writing, and agreed to by both parties. (SCHEDULE “A” - Event Details) CONFIRMED AGREEMENT AND PAYMENT SCHEDULE ACCEPTANCE: ______ I understand that alcohol purchased outside of Granby Ranch may not be brought on site, and is not permitted anywhere on Granby Ranch property, including the lifts, the Mountain Yurt, the Base Lodge, and the Base Area. In addition, any alcohol purchased at Granby Ranch may not leave the premises. This would cause an immediate termination of the event due to violation of Granby Ranch’s liquor license. ______ I understand that any personal belongings, decorations, or other supplies brought to Granby Ranch for the event will be taken at the end of the event. Any decorations left on-site at the end of the event will become the property of Granby Ranch and will be discarded. I understand that decorations and supplies are not the responsibility of Granby Ranch. Granby Ranch is a public facility and will not be responsible for lost, broken, or stolen items. ______ I understand that decorations that are used at the reception site are not to be adhered with tape, glue, or any other substance that will cause damage or peeling to the surface adhered. Nails, pins, and hooks that also cause damage are not allowed to be used. No items may be adhered to the walls. ______ I understand that a minimum of $100 per hour will be charged for any clean-up or removal of decorations left behind at either the ceremony or reception sites and for any damage caused by tape, glue, nails, pins, or hooks to repair the damage. ______ I understand that Granby Ranch may implement policies or procedures at any time that may ban fires from being built in our fire pit during events. ______ I understand that mountain weather conditions frequently and dramatically change, and may prevent the transport of guests to Vista Ridge. It is my responsibility to work with the Granby Ranch sales team to draft a “Plan B” in the case of inclement weather during my event. ______ I understand that no food or alcohol may be removed or transported off-site from the Reception since it will violate state liquor and health codes. ______ I understand that Granby Ranch reserves the right to take photographs and/or video on property.
