I HOPE From “Tuvayhun - Beatitudes for a Wounded World” This piece comes from movement no. 6 from the work “Tuvayhun – Beatitudes for a Wounded World”, a work that transcends political, religious, economic and other barriers and is about embracing our differences. In this piece, a group of singers speak their self-written one-sentence prayer or hope for our world and our future, each one in a different language. String parts doubling the choir is also available. Performance note The duration of the piece should be about 2’50-3 minutes, which give time for a group of approximately 15-16 individual singers/narrators to speak their own text. 1.

It begins with two of the texts being spoken before the music fades in. The first text should be told in the language that most people in the audience at the specific performance understand. There should always be a small break between each speaker while the music is sung continuously.

2. All individual speakers should be finished just before letter C. 3.

There is a break in the music at letter C. At this point, all singers of the choir speak their own self-written text, in their own desired language, loud and simultaneously, representing people from all over the world.

4. The music now continues from letter C and until the end. 5.

When the music stops, one last text may be told by one singer.

Depending on the venue a microphone might be needed for the speakers, except when the loud and the simultaneous text is spoken at letter C. The piece might be extended to 4 minutes with repetitions of letters A and/or B.
