Karl Henry To Scale New Heights In Killarney
HEALTH and fitness expert Karl Henry of RTÉ’s Operation Transformation fame will be Killarney bound on June 15 when he will join forces with Sinead Desmond of Ireland AM to scale Carrantuohill. Karl and Sinead, together with a team of trekkers, will be taking on the Four Peaks Challenge in aid of the Irish Alzheimer Society, supported by Allianz. Karl, Sinead and a group of Allianz employees are aiming to raise €50,000 in much-needed funds in order to help the charity to continue to support local communities by providing dementia specific services and to continue to advocate for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia. The charity plays an important role in influencing policy regard-
ing care and support services, while representing the views, needs and concerns of all affected by dementia. Karl is taking the team with him on this incredible challenge and training sessions with Karl and the group are already underway. This strenuous and demanding challenge kicks off in Killarney where the group will first take on legendary Carrantuohill. From there, the team will move to Mweelrea in County Mayo, the highest mountain in Connaught. The last day concludes with taking on both Slieve Donard in County Down and Lugnaquilla in Co Wicklow before returning to Allianz HQ. “This really is the challenge of a lifetime and one that I am so happy to be involved in supporting the Alzheimer Society with Allianz,” said Karl.
