for anyone having a birthday during the month. Please patronize our shop and the outside vendors at our luncheon to support the programs and donations sponsored by your Sisterhood.

Hello Everyone, I wanted to wish you all and your families a very Happy and Healthy New Year again. The High Holidays are past us, and we have so many great things in store for our members.

On Sunday, October 22, 2017, we will be hosting our Women of Valor Luncheon and Fashion Show, honoring Andrea Cannon, Sheree Lewis, Robyn Rubinoff, and Jennifer Vogel. Help us honor these incredible women from Congregation B’nai Israel, and have a great time in the process. If you have not yet sent in your rsvp, please do so. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. that morning for shopping, and we have outside vendors as well as items available from our own Judaica Shop.

Also in October, we will be meeting on Monday, October 16, 2017 and spending that evening with Rabbi Allison Cohen. Watch for more details. On October 21, 2017, we will be participating in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, a 5K non-competitive walk to raise funds for breast cancer awareness and research.

To recap, on Monday, September 25th, we had our annual Kickoff event at Duffy’s Sports Grill. Thank you to Barry Glick, who as he does every year, organized an amazing night. Over 30 guys attended and we enjoyed a night of socializing, watching football and eating some tasty hors d'oeuvres. Next, we celebrated Sukkot in a few different ways. Our annual sukkah building event was the morning after Yom Kippur, on Sunday, October 1st. Thanks to Howie Newmark for organ izin g t h is even t , wh ich exemplifies what our brotherhood is all about. Building the sukkah together as a community and spending time with new and old friends. Than on Wednesday, October 4th, we had our first ever event inside the Sukkah, Bourbon and Bros. Thanks to Minda for making this exciting new event happen.

Speaking of our Judaica Shop, did you know that our shop donated 500 plastic shofars to our preschool students for the High Holidays? Our shop also donates a set of Shabbat candlesticks to each bat mitzvah student and a Kiddush cup to each bar mitzvah student. Additionally, our shop donates the birthday gifts for the birthday basket, which is available once a month at Friday night services

I hope to see you at one, or all of our events in October. Please remember that if you pay your Women of Reform Judaism/Sisterhood dues, you are entitled to member pricing for our luncheon and fashion show as well as a discount for purchases at our Judaica Shop.

for setting up this exciting event for all of us to enjoy. Go Panthers! I wanted to send out a very special thank you to our congregation members who volunteered to usher this year for the High Holy days. In addition to being the Brotherhood President, I am also the Head Usher. Everyone who volunteered did a huge mitzvah for our congregation and I am extremely thankful to all of you. As you can see, we have a lot going on. In the spirit of Rosh Hashanah, come spend time with us. It’s a new year with new beginnings. A time to meet new friends. A time to try new things and to have new experiences. Just a few years ago, I was one of the new guys. Today, I have made many friends that have brought so much joy to my life. Quality relationships that have supported me through good times and tough times. We are of all ages and we are always open to new ideas and feedback. Please keep on the lookout for upcoming events.
