March 30, 2026

Dear KHK Families, Friends, and Partners, As I step into the role of Executive Director of Kids Helping Kids, I do so with deep gratitude and a profound sense of responsibility. Reflecting on 2025, I am inspired by what this organization has accomplished together. Celebrating 15 years of empowering youth through leadership development and service is no small milestone. Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, Kids Helping Kids completed 182 service projects, impacting the lives of 2,620 children. These numbers represent more than statistics — they reflect compassion in action, young leaders stepping forward, and a community that believes in the power of youth to create change. I am honored to build upon this strong foundation. My commitment is to continue strengthening our impact, expanding opportunities for youth leadership, and deepening our connections across the communities we serve. Together, we will ensure that every young person involved in KHK feels empowered, valued, and inspired to lead with purpose. The work ahead is exciting. With your continued partnership and support, we will not only sustain this momentum — we will grow it. Thank you for believing in our mission and in the extraordinary potential of our youth. With gratitude and appreciation,

Edith Targonski Edith Targonski Executive Director

Alumni Testimonials William Lesoravage "The opportunities that Kids Helping Kids has provided me over the years have been invaluable. From my time as an ambassador, to serving on the leadership executive team, and ultimately joining the Junior Board, I was able to develop and master a wide range of skills, including public speaking, community outreach, and project management. KHK’s mission is truly unique: it empowers young leaders while simultaneously connecting us to, and helping us improve, the communities we live in. In an era when genuine connectedness to others has become a rare commodity, I find that incredibly special."

Amelia Stone “My time with Kids Helping Kids was transformative for my leadership skills and confidence as a young adult. The opportunities to take the reins on service projects greatly improved my project planning, organization, communication, and public speaking skills, all skills that I employ regularly in educational and professional settings. Kids Helping Kids empowered me to believe in myself and my ideas, and helped me build professional connections that have become incredibly helpful, even after graduating from volunteering. Now, on the Junior Board of Directors, I am able to continue developing these professional skills, all while giving back to an organization that I've learned so much from.”

Alice Onorio “Being involved with Kids Helping Kids has had a lasting impact on me both academically and professionally. It has given me hands-on experience leading projects, taking initiative, and collaborating with my peers. This has given me confidence in both the leadership roles I held throughout college and as I start my career after graduation. I am excited to continue serving as a member of the Junior Board of Directors, and to support KHK as it continues to grow and make a meaningful impact in the community.” Check out more testimonials on our website!

Details Volunteers have the opportunity to propose, plan and lead projects with the support of KHK staff, fostering creativity and collaboration. This year, we successfully executed 170 hours of "Spark a Project" service projects, cherished by volunteers as the most enjoyable, where they are able to create initiatives aligned with their interests.

Catering to volunteers eager to contribute to the community without leading their own projects, this initiative requires no preparation. This year marked the Show Up & Serve execution of 392 hours of "Show Up and Serve” projects, in our collaboration with local organizations. Our Signature projects, characterized by their annual, large-scale nature, have earned a reputation for their impact, typically reaching 300-500 underserved Signature Project children per event. Hope Day, which is a mental health resource fair, attained Signature status due to its widespread popularity and outstanding performance, and came back for a third year in a row.
