Christian Roots of a Nation When we focus as the Body of Christ, what are we focusing on outside of ourselves within the countries we live? This goes far across the world. Not every nation is a

Christian nation, yet every nation has within their boundaries Christians.

I am a firm believer that our nation America is a Christian nation. I know we're founded on Christian principles, but why? It's important to say, "because the founders of this na-

tion were part of the Body of Christ, operating in Divine destiny, with Divine wisdom and were ones who were called and chosen to be the founding fathers of this nation". The Lord had a plan to raise up a nation, reach into a nation, and reach through a nation. He uses His people no matter where they are. He is establishing 'roots' in the Christian faith worldwide. Jesus was proclaimed by the word to be the 'root' of Jesse.  Years ago the Lord established this nation through Christopher Columbus. He founded this nation through Godly men and woman. He raised up many to stand for the freedoms we hold dear. He still has that plan today all over the world. He is reaching into every nation, every tribe, and proclaiming the Gospel to every tongue through the Body of Christ. He is in the business of raising up nations.

"Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession." Psalm 2:8 We are to go into all the world and preach the Gospel and stand for the Gospel. Interestingly, it is important to know that whether you live in a Christian nation, or whether you are a Christian living in a nation, that you are the influence of God Almighty, the maker of heaven and earth, who is the One that every nation will and must answer to. KidWise

That is an awesome thing to remember. That is, that God (the One true God), wants to use 'you' and that nations 'will' answer to Him. The church is known as the Body of Christ and began after the resurrection of Jesus under the dictates of the Roman empire. They were under the rule of a 'pagan' government. But Jesus once again proved the validity of Isaiah 9:6, "For unto us a

child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders." In the book of Colossians 1:16 & 18, it states that He has preeminence in all things and that He has dominion over thrones, which would include governments. The church has stood in Corinth, Ephesus, Galatia, the province of Asia, Philippi, and more. Religious philosophies have tried to exalt themselves above the message of the Gospel and have failed through the years. The Pilgrims left Europe in order to have the freedom to read and carry the Bible. The American Revolution hated the tyranny of England. The Dark Ages tried to push down and destroy the church. After the death and resurrection of Jesus, those who became Christians were martyred, feed to lions, imprisoned, all in an attempt to keep people from their religious (Christian) freedoms. There is no question, the Christian faith in Jesus Christ is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. We as Christians believe nothing less than that. Remember, every person

is an influence to someone else no matter what kind of nation you live in. This nation was influenced because of the passion for Christian freedom. From the moment Isaac and Ishmael were separated, there has been a battle between what the Bible calls the 'Son of Promise" and the 'Son of Bondage'. Standing for the promise of faith in the opposition of religion can challenge anyone, anywhere throughout the world. It has always been the challenge against those who believe in the One true God and those who believe in the 'religions' of the world. There has been an uprising against the truth of God's word throughout the ages. But His word has been proven. He remains... unchanged... We are to be leaders where ever we are and are meant to influence where ever we are called. That is also where ever we live. It was around 1800 that Thomas Jefferson and John Adams meet in London with a Muslim ambassador, (Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja). Their position was that America should not have to pay tax to sail in Muslim wa-

ters. This ambassador stood strongly on his philosophy as he stated to Jefferson and Adams his reason for taxing those he felt were 'in' Muslim waters. He said it was because, …it was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman (Muslim) who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise.” “

It was a bold Christian stand of these two men that America no longer would pay these taxes. From 1780-1800 America had paid 20% of its revenue to Muslims which totalled about 1 million dollars at that time. Because of their Christian faith and belief in the freedom it offered, it caused this nation to build a strong military base in the Navy and Marines. That kept the world free from what was termed by them as 'pirates' of the seas. Thomas Jefferson kept a copy of this section of the Koran which was quoted to him by this ambassador to remind him of the truth of what he felt was tyranny and wrongful rule, as well as dominance over the lives of others. It was the Berlin Wall that was constructed to keep philosophies contained within and to keep other belief's out. Through that, people were held captive with no choice but to remain within its borders. September 1989 a chain of events set up the fall of that system after more than 13,000 German's escaped through Hungry to Austria. Many protesters began to rise chanting, "Wir wollen raus!" (We want out!) This fall changed the world and many people were praying. November 9, 1989 is the day the wall is considered to have fallen. People's hunger for freedom rang through the shouts of hearts filled with the passion to stand. You can get a tape series about this at,    For Christians here in America, we must live by His conviction and by the word. We

must be a voice of the freedom we have gained through Jesus Christ and those who have gone before us who have stood for the freedoms we hold dear. We need to continue boldly to influence not only our neighborhoods and our churches, but our country in every area. We also are to continue to influence the world. This means our Jerusalem, our Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth. It's not always easy to stand by our Christian convictions but we must stand as Christians in every nation. As Christians in American, we must stand and proclaim those foundational roots founded in this nation that are embedded in freedom. There is a bell that still rings for freedom. It should be ringing on every church building and in every heart today. This is because we are a Christian nation.

KICKS Have fun with these five “Keys of Thanksgiving” to celebrate the Lord, each other, and all that He has or will do for your family. Have your family sit in a circle around your living room. Cut five keys out of construction paper. Write the scriptures (below) on the keys and follow each direction as you go.

Key One:

“Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.“ Psalm 95:2 Have one of your family members pass the key to someone and make up a song about being thankful and praising the Lord with music. Continue around your family circle for everyone to have an opportunity.

Key Two: “All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more

people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:15 Have one of your family members pass the key to someone and say three things they are thankful for in your home, church, and lives. Continue around your family circle until all have had an opportunity to share.

Key Three: “For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not

Family Life Fun stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.” Ephesians 1:15-16 Have your family members pass the key to each other. One person at a time. Have the one passing the key say three things they are thankful for about that person. Continue around your family circle until everyone has had something shared about them.

Key Four:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6 Have your family members pass the key to each other. One person at a time. Have the one passing the key ask the Lord for something specific and give thanks for Him answering their prayer. Continue around your family circle until everyone has had prayed one thing.

KidWise KidTips

Key Five:

“For everything God created is good and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.” 1 Timothy 4:4-5 Have your family members pass the key to each other. One person at a time. Have the one passing the key give thanks to Lord for something specific that He has created or done, giving thanks to and for Him and His word. Continue around your family circle until everyone has given thanks to the Lord.

Enjoy a thankful attitude with your family this Thanksgiving! And from the KICKS Family to yours, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Thanksgiving Crafts

Sure, these crafts may be traditional, but have fun with your kiddos this year making their very own, ‘custom’ Thanksgiving crafts. The supplies and construction are basic, so you won’t have to fuss in the midst of holiday business. When you’re done creating, put on a play and/or puppet show, and display your crafts with joy! As always and above all, have FUN with your family this Thanksgiving! Gather Supplies. For the puppet you’ll need paper bags, construction paper, scissors, glue, and something for eyes. For the hats & headdress you’ll need construction paper, scissors, glue, tape, yarn, brown marker and ruler. For the turkey handprint painting or drawing you’ll need construction paper and crayons or paint. KidWise

“Our Many Thanks” Thanksgiving Countdown This is a great way to celebrate a thankful heart for Thanksgiving! Each pocket holds paper for family members to list something they’re thankful for each day. Design your countdown calendar to be as large or small as you would like, just be sure to give yourself enough room for the pockets and the space needed to write your thanks. Instructions: 1. Make your pockets. Cut 2-inch squares for each pocket you intend to make (depending on when youʼre starting your ʻcountdownʼ). Position the pockets on your 12x12 sheet of cardstock. Secure the bottom corners of the pockets to the cardstock (so theyʼll stick while youʼre sewing them on). Sew the pockets to the page. If you donʼt want to sew the pockets, just use adhesive on each corner and the bottom. Just be sure to leave the middle open so you can use it like a pocket. 2. Number your pockets. Number each pocket to count down to Thanksgiving Day. We decorated our numbers with ink, cardstock, paint, sandpaper, tags, etc., but we also left some plain - be creative!   3. Make your title. We used letter stamps, black ink, and notebook paper and stamped out the title “Our Many Thanks”. You can change this title to be whatever youʼd like for your family and of course, use whatever you would like. Next we used a rectangle piece of brown paper (the top cut with decorative scissors) and used letter stickers to spell out “Thanksgiving Countdown”. Once again, use whatever youʼd like for this part. Connect your “Thanksgiving Countdown” to your “Title” (we used staples) to the top of the 12x12 cardstock.

What We Used: 12x12 cardstock, brown (BasicGrey) Patterned cardstock (BasicGrey, Crate Paper) Cream cardstock Notebook paper Brown paper Number and letter stickers (BasicGrey, Scrapworks, Making Memories) Letter stamps (Stampin’ Up) Ink pads (Stampin’ Up) Decorative scissors Circle punch (Stampin’ Up) Staples Acrylic paint Sand paper Thread and sewing machine E-Z Squares Adhesive (3-L Scrapbooking Adhesive)

4. Fill your pockets. Using notebook paper, cut sheets for your pockets. You donʼt want this to be too large, because you want it to tuck into your pocket, but make sure itʼs large enough for each member of your family to write something theyʼre thankful for on. 5. Countdown! Your calendar is now ready! Hang this on the wall, place magnets on the back and keep on the fridge, place it on the kitchen table or counter – stick it in a place where you will see it and remember to do this daily. Enjoy time with your family writing down the many things you have to be thankful for!

The Enemy Has Been Crushed Under Your Feet by Pastor Rick Robinson Have you ever felt like the only reason some people have ever given you the time of day is because all they cared about was having their day in the sun? Well if you're like me, sure! It seems that as cautious as you are occasionally there is someone who sneaks in under your radar, raids your camp and then sets out to discredit or destroy the very thing you reached out to them with. And to make matters worse they act all nice and friendly to your face while at the same time behind your back undermine you or your ministry by spreading lies and deception in an effort to get what you have that you were so willing to share with them. Why? The truth is that people like this are not truly serving the Lord but instead are serving there own unhealthy appetites. The Bible says it like this in Romans 16: 17-20, "Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen." Even though it is easy to feel like you have been forsaken you have not. God sometimes handles things differently than the way we would like and that's why He's God and we're not. Rest in the Word. God says that as long as YOU are obedient and do what he says, He will give you the land that flows with milk and honey and provide His protection over your family, your ministry and all those that you love and care about (Numbers 14). Never repay evil for evil the Lord takes care of His own. Don't allow yourself to get all worked up over the garbage that the devil is throwing at you, it just means you are doing something that threatens his hold on people, and isn't that what it's all about? So HEY! Keep up the good work, and watch how the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet.

When school started this year a couple of the other kids started picking on me for no reason, at least I thought they had no reason.

Be a Do ! r e d Goo

Hey, this is what I learned. Many times people treat you ugly because they are jealous. Maybe they are jealous of your friends, your clothes, your house, or simply because you have something on the inside of you that they want, like happiness, joy, a good attitude. As much as you would like to strike back DON'T here is what the bible says, "Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it." Psalm 34:14 All that means is don't repay evil for evil, you do your best to be at peace with everybody and leave the rest to God. And by the way, since I never treated those kids the way they treated me, we're getting along great now, they learned a great lesson about the love of God too. They found out there was just nothing to be jealous about because God made them special too. Guess what? I actually think they like me, heeeee-heeeee! Later Gators!
