21st Century Galleries need to find new ways to communicate information to their different users ranging from children to the retired, families to individuals doing research, able bodied to wheelchair users. Each of these users has different needs and all need to be considered.

Design Brief

Environments need to inspire, whilst objects need to inform. Spaces need to be rethought and move beyond the idea of rooms filled with static objects in glass cases. Your task is to redesign the Science Museum Flight Gallery into somewhere for users to engage with objects in a more exciting way. You should add more inviting ‘feature’ elements to the space (think about the Mathematics gallery). The gallery should show a range of large & small-scale focal points that excite, inform users and communicate information throughout history that helps visitors understand the way flight has evolved and what it is set to become. The gallery dimension is 40M x 20M (length and width) x 9M high.

What is a Gallery? A Gallery is a room or building for displaying works of art.
