keytheatrepeterborough.ticketsolve.com

Welcome to our new and exciting programme. My name is Pat and I am the Chief Executive of City Culture Peterborough and we are delighted to be able to share with you our exciting and forthcoming programme at the Key Theatre. So, who are City Culture Peterborough, I hear you ask.... well, we are the new organisation who are looking after some of the city’s arts, heritage and culture venues (Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery, Flag Fen Archaeological Park, the libraries and of course the Key Theatre). At City Culture we want to champion the city and its communities though arts, heritage, culture, libraries and archives. Giving a sense of place and pride in our city, and what it can offer, we want to give both our local residents and visitors opportunities to explore, enjoy and learn, bringing vibrancy and excitement in what we do. Believe it or not it was back in 1973 when the Key Theatre first opened its doors, and, for the past 48 years it has been offering a delight of different entertainment. The Key Theatre is much more than that.... it’s a place for people to meet, for families to come together (especially at panto time) and local groups to put on their performances. Many of us have missed our cosy and intimate auditorium since the start of the pandemic but we are back! I do hope to see you soon at the Key (and our other venues) and the opportunity to have a chat with you. Dr Pat Carrington MBE

Although located in the heart of the city centre, this is Peterborough’s hidden gem – “There is so much to see and do for free I didn’t even realise the museum was there!” Flag Fen Archaeology Park The park sits in the midst of a unique Bronze Age landscape that has revealed a mysterious timber causeway and ritual platform made by people 3,300 years ago. You can see parts of the timber monument, a reconstructed roundhouse, sheep and the famous ‘Must Farm’ Bronze Age boats whilst they are being conserved. Located on the edge of the city “A unique experience, that blends history with wildlife, creating a feeling of tranquility and wonder.” Both the Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery and Flag Fen Archaeology Park are unique sites to visit, open throughout the summer holidays, and ideal for fun-packed family days out.
