Interviews and Journey Maps

In order to maintain consistency, all interviews contained the following question guide. While interviews didn't follow the order or format structured below, all of the interviewees answered the questions in some way. The questions and method of interview was intentionally varied for aspiring professionals and practicing professionals. I interviewed all practicing professionals in the setting, date, and time of their preference and paid for interviews in the form of food. Because aspiring professionals closely mirrored my own identity, I took caution to only meet with them for 30 minutes over the phone at the date and time of their preference. This was done in order to account for a potential bias I might exhibit as a researcher. Practicing Professionals Interview Questions

Organizing Data

PAGE 05

Information from all interviews and secondary research were organized through a combination of analogue and digital means. I utilized Mural, an online board to store interview quotes, a 48 inch white paper to keep sticky notes of interviews, a notebook and Refworks Proquest for keeping all references in one page.

Synthesis

PAGE 06

Several synthesis methods were used for this research. The class acted as both a source of feedback and additional brain power to refine insights. Secondly, a group synthesis with co-founders of DaVerse Lounge was conducted to maintain relevance during the meaning making process. Last but not least, insights were further refined on my own.
