El Cerro Verde It is a beautiful park pleasant temperature, which has very nice trails, shaded by the most diverse species of plants and trees. The Cerro Verde has wonderful orchids, spectacular viewpoints from which you can admire the majesty of volcanoes Izalco and Santa Ana (Ilamatepeq) and Coatepeque Lake, and towns like JuayĂşa, Nahuizlco and Acajutla with its beautiful historic port. Park, 2,030 feet above sea level, is also an excellent place for bird watching, walking trails, make picnics, outdoor games or just relax in a hammock. The flora of this area has identified the plant formation as cloud forests or vegetation cold zone. The flora is lush, evergreen due to high soil moisture and air, due to the constant fog and frequent rains. Many animals find shelter in this booking, about 127 recorded bird species. One of them, the Guardabarranco (solid Myadestes veraepacis) is considered one of the top five world songbirds, also amphibians, reptiles and a variety of insects, particularly a rare species of giant butterfly.


Cerro Verde National Park, also known as Parque Nacional Los Volcanes, is a large national park in the Central American nation of El Salvador. Cerro Verde Park offers all tourists with many innovative changes that much effort to date has been satisfactory. The National Institute of Tourism has worked with the "Tour Guides" to give foreign and domestic tourists an interpretation of the Natural Kingdom in an educational and differently. The project "Tourist Guide" was created to engage people in the communities surrounding the Cerro Verde, with the aim of giving young people an opportunity to learn and spend your time on than "Farm Labor".

The name in Nahuatl Cerro Verde is Cuntetepeque. Main Attractions: interpretive trails, lookouts, flora and fauna, orchid.

Perquín and El Mozote Perquín is a municipality in the Morazán department of El Salvador. It is home to the Museum of the Revolution, which contains artifacts and exhibits related to the Salvadoran Civil War. Exhibits include a recreation of Radio Venceremos, a civil war-era opposition radio station that was broadcast throughout the country and re-broadcast via short wave radio throughout the world during the 1980s. Today Radio Venceremos is a commercial radio station called la RV. Perquin is surrounded by coffee plantations and green pinegroves and hosts an annual festival that takes place during the first week of August.

In the village of El Mozote the Monument of El Mozote Slaughter was raised as a posthumous tribute to the victims of the slaughter perpetrated by members of the Salvadoran army in hands of the Atlacatl Battalion between December 8 and 13 from 1981 under the command of Colonel Domingo Monterrosa who in turn was killed along with his staff of military, in a spectacular Trojan horse operation. The monument stands as a reminder of how cruel the war was for our people and how savages were the ones who caused it.


El Pital Cerro El Pital is a mountain in Central America, on the border of El Salvador and Honduras. It is located 12 km (7 mi) from the town of La Palma at a height of 2,730 m (8,957 ft) above sea level, and is the highest point in Salvadoran territory. Cerro El Pital is in the middle of a cloud forest that has an average annual temperature of 10 °C (50 °F). It is one of the most popular tourist draws in El Salvador, with great biodiversity in a wide altitudinal range containing many endangered species of flora and fauna. The cloud forest has some of the rarest plants and animals in the country, including quetzals and other endangered species. From November to February the temperature ranges between −6 °C (21 °F) and 10 °C (50 °F) (lowest recorded, in January 1956) and in the rest of the year the temperature ranges between 5 °C (41 °F) and 20 °C (68 °F). It is the coldest place in El Salvador. On 13 April 2004, much of the mountain was blanketed by an accumulation of hail during a storm, an unusual event that caused a commotion among the local community.


The Pital is one of the highest mountain and peak of El Salvador. It is one of the most important mountains in the department of Chalatenango and has an elevation 2,730 feet above sea level. In addition to cool weather, El Pital has a humid forest composed of pine trees, oak, oak and cypress. The highest part of this hill is called Horqueta and is of great tourist attraction as it is the place where El Salvador borders with Honduras.

Flowers and Vegetables: Given its cold wether EL Pital is a perfect land for flowers and vegetables cultivation, there are so many different types of beautiful flowers:

Ecotourism: The Pital is considered, by people who like the cold weather one of the best places for camping; the highest point is to camp at 2700 meters, specifically between the two peaks of the mountain, which forms a wind corridor. In this sector of the mountain the temperature is about 10 degrees Celsius unless surrounding areas even if a few meters. Many people visit El Pital wanting to do ecotourism as: camping, wildlife watching and hiking the different trails. Between the principals vegetables cultivated there are: cabbage, lettuce, broccoli, potatoes, and fruits such as strawberries, peaches and much more!

Its vegetation is conifers and oaks, between species are plants unique to the country and the area. We can also find "cartridges" that are quintessential flower adorning the hill besides the hydrangeas of different colors (white, pink, blue) sunflowers tigrillas, peaches and planted a wildflower called "HOLY Carlo".
