2016/2017: A YEAR IN REVIEW

kettlebells4kids is on a mission to get homeless kids moving in a new direction. We believe that building strong, confident children today will create healthy, successful communities tomorrow. With your support, we can help strengthen their physical, social and emotional skills by consistently bringing active play and fitness equipment and programs to homeless shelters across America.

THANK YOU Dear Champion for Homeless Children, Every year while we are busy allocating dollars raised the prior year, we also take time to pause and review the annual survey responses we receive from grant recipients in homeless shelters across America. This report highlights the significant impact we have made in the lives of homeless children and their families in 2017, with the dollars raised in 2016. We are humbled by the heartfelt stories that are shared with us, which continue to inspire our mission of bringing active play and fitness to homeless children in local communities, and create lifelong healthy habits. As one shelter director shares, “The children in shelter are resilient and strong, but they are still just kids. Your support allows them to experience childhood normalcy and develop lifelong skills of teamwork, cooperation, creativity and hard work. Thank you for supporting our children.” We believe raising awareness and funds for 2.5 million homeless children in America will help build healthy, successful communities across our country. I’d like to thank you personally for your continued support and hope you will join us again this year to continue to make a difference – one child at a time. Kind Regards,

Going outside and throwing the football around or playing basketball together is just the beginning of healing their relationship.”

THE EXCITEMENT “On a particularly hard day for one of our participants, having the ability to go outside, kick the soccer ball around, and play with his peers completely changed his attitude from where it was before program started. It was great hearing him go from saying, “I’m bored. I don’t want to be here,” before our day started to “Can we have 5 more minutes? When can I come back? Will we go outside and play tomorrow too?” With the new equipment, the kids are excited to be outside moving more.” Director of a homeless shelter in Hillsboro, OR Oregon k4k grant impacted 15 kids
