Beauty of Light Brian Dion

Alfred East Art Gallery 29th July – 26th August Preview Saturday 29th July, 1-3pm In this exhibition Brian shows the importance of capturing the true essence of the day and to be as true to life as possible. He proves that you don’t need to travel far to see the beauty in nature as most of the images on show are taken within Northamptonshire.

Alfred East Art Gallery 29th July – 26th August Another chance to see part of the nationally shortlisted exhibition from 2016. Collection Connections, seeks to connect as many of the artists within the gallery’s collection as possible, looking at social, professional and family links.

Alfred East Art Gallery 2nd – 30th September

‘Observations’ is Annette’s latest body of work capturing poignant, amusing and quirky moments experienced throughout her life. Rendered in linocut, etch, and carborundum, this collection will combine with her colourful ‘Seascape’ work to give her viewer a visual delight not to be missed!

A Wildlife Artist and Printmaker, Richard lives on the Leicestershire / Northamptonshire border with countryside and reservoirs close at hand where there are plenty of subjects for the sketchbook. These sketches form the basis of Richard’s prints and paintings.

Animals, Colour and Light Amanda Drage People Choice Winner of the Open 2016 Alfred East Art Gallery 2nd – 30th September Preview 1st September, 6-8pm

Alfred East Art Gallery 7th October – 11th November Preview Saturday 7th October, 1-3pm

Amanda’s show is a collection of paintings and drawings based on the theme of Animals, Colour and Light. Amanda is drawn to the beautiful colour and interesting contrasts that occur in nature, and has really enjoyed putting together a collection of work that explores and celebrates this theme.

With over 100 members, KDAS are back with their 112th Annual exhibition. Selected works will form part of this year’s exhibition featuring a diverse range of techniques, styles and mediums making this show appeal to a wide audience with something for everyone!

Manor House Museum 15th July – 14th October A celebration of cooking and dining at home. From table manners to ‘grow your own’ to the latest gadgets, learn how our fashions food have changed throughout the years.

From opticians to operatics discover how the ‘Shoe Grocers’ of Kettering came together to shape the working and family life of the town. The Life of Nancy Wake By Betty West Friday 21st July Nancy was a member of the French Resistance and in 1943 was the Gestapo’s most wanted person. Betty will look at her fascinating life during World War 2, and why she was hailed as a hero.

Family Fun Days

Join us at the museum for a fun filled programme of craft activities for children aged 3 and above. Sessions last approximately one hour and we ask that all children are accompanied by an adult.
