DESIGNER KERSTIN MARIE BROWN

KERSTIN MARIE BROWN PORTFOLIO ABOUT Kerstin Brown designs for the confident woman who loves to rebel. Using a wide range of fabrics, Brown creates classic, edgy styles for the feminine form. Her creations are both fashion-forward and versatile, yet Brown’s style clearly sets her apart from other designers. Brown’s journey began at The Art Institute of Atlanta’s summer camp when she realized her interest in fashion design. The Art Institute introduced concepts such as: inspiration boards, sketches, fashion illustrations, and runway shows. This subtle introduction into fashion was Brown’s reassurance that fashion design was the career path for her. Brown began her college career at The University of South Alabama with a major in business, but Brown knew that a more creative major was her correct path. After researching different apparel programs in Alabama, Brown transferred to The University of Alabama. Since attending The University of Alabama, Brown has been involved with Mobile Fashion week, her senior fashion show, and two design based fundraisers: Camp Rap-A-Hope, benefiting children with cancer and Runway for Relief, benefiting Tuscaloosa tornado victims. Brown has also interned with Tuli Designs LLC., a wholesale scarf company. During the internship Brown acted as a stylist on photo-shoots, assisted with Tuli Designs upcoming scarf collection, and created line sheets and color ways for potential buyers at the Atlanta Apparel Mart. Now as a senior, graduating in December, Brown has delved into her passion and has been able to put her talents to work as a freelance textile designer for Tuli Designs LLC. Upon graduation, Brown wants to further her career by becoming a creative and/or textile designer.
