: Your newborn session will take place in the comfort of your own home (or an agreed upon location). My newborn sessions are baby driven, allowing plenty of time for nursing, changing, comforting, etc. Sessions will typically last about 3-4 hours. I am a studio light photographer for newborns. I only require an area that is large enough to set up my backdrops and access to an outlet. About 30 minutes before your session, turn up the heat to about 78-80 degrees, for baby’s comfort. Undress your baby down to their diaper and wrap him/her in a blanket. Babies will wake up easily if you have to take clothes off over their head. I ask that you interact with the baby as much as possible prior
to the session. This will help baby to sleep later. The idea to having the curly poses is to have an “asleep” baby, not an “awake” baby. It is very important to feed the baby prior to my arrival or while I am setting up the equipment. We want a full belly!! (a full belly=sleepy baby) Once the session begins, you are welcome to sit back, relax even take a nap if you like but I ask that voices please be kept low to keep baby nice and sleepy. Sometimes I may ask for assistance with spotting and I prefer that it be someone other than mom, if possible. Babies can smell mommy and will tend to want to feed. I ask that you try to relax as much as possible, as babies can feel the tension if you are upset. Don’t worry or panic if the baby pees, it will happen! It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when and we are prepared for this. I always use a pacifier, even if the baby doesn’t typically use one. It can be soothing and comforting during the session. I bring a large amount of setups and props with me but parents welcome to offer suggestions. Sibling and parent shots are usually done at the end of the session. This will give you time to get ready while I am photographing the baby. Please arrange for someone to help if there is a small sibling so they can come in at the end of the session. Just let me know in my Newborn questionnaire if there are special items that you want to include in your session (ie, family heirlooms, special hats, blankets, baskets or even objects that represent your hobbies or careers) I am open to any ideas that will make your session more special and unique for you. I love outdoor images (they are Amazing!) and that is also an option, if weather permits, but your baby’s safety is always my top concern. Approximately 1-2 weeks after the session, the sneak peeks will be available for you by email or Facebook. Your pictures will be available in approximately 2-3 weeks. At that time, we will set up an inperson ordering session where you can view all your images and decide what images you would like to purchase. 8x10 Prints start at $25 with many options for a la carte prints and portrait collections start at $350. If you have any other questions, please call or text me at 813-786-2694 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I can provide you with a detailed price list.
