Cleantech Investment Factoid: Venture Capital investments in clean technology fell by 1.25% - from $4.92B in 2010 to $4.87B in 2011 – due in part to the unfavorable investor reaction to, and political fallout from the bankruptcy of solar start-up Solyndra and continuing challenges of the global economy. Solyndra received a $535 million loan guarantee from the U.S. Department of Energy in 2009 and declared $780 million in debt at the time of its September 2011 Chapter 11 filing. 1 http://delawarebankruptcy.foxrothschild.com/2011/09/articles/bankruptcy-case-summary/solyndra-files-bankruptcy-in-delaw are-after-shutting-down-operations/ 1
