“Every person, regardless of whatever different abilities they may have, can contribute, can be a source of joy, can beam with pride and love.”

The Nysmith school community “Makes the Point” to benefit the Special Olympics on Wednesday, April 24. Please help support the efforts of the Special Olympics, dedicated to empowering special needs individuals to become physically fit, productive, and respected members of society through sports training and competition. The Basketball Shootout provides students the opportunity to earn money in support of Special Olympics athletes, based on the number of free throws attempted within 60 seconds. Novice or expert, it doesn’t matter. In keeping with the spirit of the Special Olympics, what matters is the effort to do one’s personal best. Every person can make a difference! Thank you for your generous donation and continued support of the Special Olympics. Please return your ‘lump sum’ donations or pledge form with envelope to the office by Friday, May 10, 2013. This event is co-sponsored by the Nysmith P.E. Dept. and the Community Service Committee. Please contact Katherine Sands at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions or would like to volunteer. Thank you!
