In 2019 Destination Netherlands (Kennisnetwerk Destinatie Nederland) came together with Dutch Destination Marketing and Management Organisations (DMOs) to discuss the future of DMOs. The biggest challenges facing DMOs were identified and a new vision for the role of the DMO was formulated. The new vision was translated into the toolkit ‘The changing role of the DMO’, which was composed in co-creation with the Dutch DMOs. The toolkit lists the 10 most important topics for further development of DMOs.
