Women are likely to get affected more by this disease than men. The research has shown that nearly 90% patients are women. Mostly, they get affected in between the age of 15-44. Treatment of Lupus Erythematosus As said above there is no particular medicines available for SLE treatment. However, some drugs like nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and corticosteroids are used by doctors to reduce or control the pain and inflammation. To prevent flares and control symptoms at early stages many doctors prefer Hydroxychloroquine. If patientsâ€™ kidney has affected severely doctors often prefer cyclophosphamide to control infection. However, these medicines must be prescribed only by doctors otherwise it might worsen the conditions. There are few tips for SLE patients: 1. Avoid exposer to sun by using sunscreen. 2. Workout regularly 3. No smoking or alcohol 4. Avoid sulphonamide-containing antibiotics. 5. If you face acute symptoms or fever or angina pains or shortness of breath, immediately call your doctor.
