PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Graphics Manager, Corporate Communications City of Fayetteville, North Carolina

December 2005-present

Serve as the Graphics Manager/Assistant to the Director in the Corporate Communications Department responsible for creating visual design elements for marketing and advertising materials for the City Manager’s Office and fourteen City departments. Works in conjunction with Corporate Communications staff and staff of other City departments on a broad spectrum of projects, both internally and externally, that require graphic design expertise. Provides oversight of the City’s Graphic standards, branding and corporate identity. Coordinates strategically targeted grassroots community outreach, through various methods of visual communication, including print and web design, publications, brochures, reports, print advertising, weekly and monthly newsletters and digital graphics for television. Also assists in monitoring and maintaining the City’s social media platforms. Supervises the auxiliary functions of Corporate Communications which includes the print shop and mail services. Provides broadcasting duties through office coverage. Reports directly to the Corporate Communications Director. Also assumes director duties for office coverage when the Corporate Communications Director is out of the office.

Key Accomplishments: • Assisted with the launching of FayTV7, the City of Fayetteville’s Government Access Channel, in July 2013 through branding the channel, providing graphic content and rebranding the City’s YouTube channel as www.faytv7.com for on-demand programming


• Contributed to the launching of Fayetteville Outfront (www.fayettevilleoutfront.com), the City of Fayetteville’s civic engagement website, in January 2014 through branding the website and providing graphic content

• Provided graphical assistance for the City Council’s onboarding, inauguration, orientation and strategic planning retreat

• Assisted Corporate Communications Director with State Legislative Affairs through providing research, content creation and graphic assistance

• Provided communications assistance for the Public Works Commission (PWC) Alignment Study

• Produced marketing and promotional materials for Fayetteville Beautiful’s grassroots efforts for the Spring Annual City-Wide Cleanup and Cigarette Butt Litter campaigns, both sponsored by the City of Fayetteville and for Community Conversations, an inclusive dialogue process consisting of a carefully constructed conversation that includes a diverse and broad representation of Fayetteville residents, local officials, law enforcement, community organizations and others to participate in honest and transparent conversations, sponsored by the Fayetteville-Cumberland Human Relations Commission

• Created promotional items for the annual Dogwood Festival and International Folk Festival

• Assisted with the application process, marketing and promotional campaigns for the City of Fayetteville’s recognition as an All-America City in 2011 by the National Civic League

• Launched and branded the City’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages

• Branded the City’s Recommended and Adopted Budgets, Consolidated Annual Financial Reports, Strategic Plans, Annual Reports, Employee Handbooks and Employee Benefits Guides

• Provided coverage of the broadcasting duties for City Council Meetings

• Branded and coordinated design of marketing materials for the Safe Streets Symposium April 11, 2014, a grassroots event that invited organizations, agencies and individuals invested in the betterment of our community to come together to discuss how to make Fayetteville and Cumberland County a safer community

• Branded the North Carolina Veterans Park, Festival Park and the Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum and provided marketing and promotional materials and other graphic assistance for both the ribbon cuttings and openings

• Created branding and corporate identity for the City’s Sestercentennial (250th) Anniversary in 2012

• Initiated branding and corporate identity for the Community Wellness & Public Safety Council (CWPSC), a grassroots cooperative initiative committed to leading community problem solving-efforts that improve the quality of life for all citizens and works assertively with the community to address the underlying conditions that lead to crime, disorder, and other public safety concerns and seeks to develop creative and innovative approaches designed to address all facets of community wellness, safety awareness, and education to protect all citizens of our community

• Branded and provides content gathering and visual communication for the City’s FOCUS On Fayetteville and Downtown Developments sections of Up and Coming Weekly, a weekly community newspaper

• Branded, gathers content and designs the Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation Activities Guide, which features programs, special events and facilities. The publication is printed twice a year and 40,000 copies are circulated to recreation centers, municipal & county facilities and schools

The Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex is a regional section of the North Carolina Division of State History Museums. The historical complex collects, preserves and interprets the cultural history of southern North Carolina and the state for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations. Through exhibits and educational programming the complex raises public awareness of the past and its influence on the present. The historical complex also provides technical and professional assistance to non-profit historical groups within its region.
