For all those whose name begins with “A. ~KAO Dedicated to pigs everywhere. ~ACO

Once there was a boy with a pig nose. Whenever he laughed, he said “Ha ha *snort*.

His mother took him to the doctor. The doctor said, “Ha ha *snort*. Your son has a pig nose!” His mother said, “I know he does. That’s why I brought him to you. I can’t stop thinking about his nose, and I want you to fix it.”

The doctor gave her seven pills. He said, “Give your son one of these every night before bed. By the seventh morning you won’t even notice his pig nose.” So the boy’s mother took him home, gave him the first pill, and put him to bed.

When he got up in the morning, he had pointy ears! All day, his mother looked at him and thought, “Look at those pointy ears! That night, she gave him the second pill and put him to bed.

When he got up in the morning, he had hairy bristles on his face, his neck, and his back! All day, his mother looked at him and thought, “Look at all those hairy bristles! That night, she gave him the third pill and put him to bed.

When he got up in the morning, he had cloven hooves for hands and feet! All day, his mother looked at him and thought, “Look at those cloven hooves! That night, she gave him the fourth pill and put him to bed.

When he got up in the morning, he had a curly pink tail! All day, his mother looked at him and thought, “Look at that curly pink tail! That night, she gave him the fifth pill and put him to bed.

When he got up in the morning, he had a big jiggly belly! All day, his mother looked at him and thought, “Look at that big jiggly belly! That night, she gave him the sixth pill and put him to bed.

When he got up in the morning, he walked on all fours! All day, his mother looked at him and thought, “Look at my son walking on all fours! That night she gave him the seventh pill and put him to bed.

When he got up in the morning, he was a pig! His mother took him back to the doctor. “Doctor!” she said. “My son is a pig! You said you would fix his pig nose, and now he’s a pig!” “Ha ha *snort*, said the doctor. “When was the last time before now that you thought about his pig nose?”

His mother thought. “When I brought him to you seven days ago,” she said. The doctor said, “I said by the seventh morning you wouldn’t even notice his pig nose, and you haven’t even noticed it all week long.”

His mother realized the doctor was right. And she never thought about her son’s pig nose again. Except when he laughed, “Ha ha *snort*!”
