STRIKE A BALANCE!

SPORTS

ENRICHMENT CLASSES

TEEN KARATE

Ever feel that your life is out of control? ....then carve out a few hours a week to regain that control!

Skip Welton and Richard Lagarde invite you to join classes in the Korean style of Karate; Tang Soo Do.

THE BALANCE...

-Your commitment to learn a completely new discipline (form of movement and conditioning) that will transport you from your present day mundane state to one of a "cat-like balance and reflexes."

-Can help you put your mind and body into the place where you're completely focused on your inner self and outside pressures melt away.

-Your commitment to time and openness to new movement, and we commit to showing you the way that has truly helped us keep a balance in all aspects of our lives.

THE BENEFITS...

-Through group instruction learn the control you have over your body and your ability to take control over adversity.

-Gain new levels of physical conditioning, balance and perspective

-Gain a better understanding of your body, the need for conditioning, especially the core, and the exhilaration associated with feeling in balance.

-You will be shown how to defend, counter attack, all by following the movement of your instructor.

-Begin an activity that can be pursued over a lifetime The practical benefits of increased flexibility, increased strength, better balance and stress relief.

NEW PROGRAM IDEA?

Do you have a program that you would like to offer through the Parks & Recreation Department? Fill out a program proposal form and e-mail it to wsabelawski@kennebunkmaine.us. We are always looking for new program ideas! Program proposal forms can be found online HERE.

VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers are essential to this department. They enable us to provide a much larger program format at a considerable savings to the community. Volunteers in turn receive hours of enjoyment in an activity or program in which they have a strong interest. The department is always looking for more volunteers for special events and field trips, to set up programs, or for a program they might like to start. Please help us set up a volunteer list by contacting the department and then by giving a few hours of your time to a very worthwhile program or activity. Please be advised all volunteers must fill out a volunteer application before volunteering for any program.
