Community Regeneration The continuing theme that ran through guest speaker Henry Delozier’s remarks at the Rio Verde Community Association Annual Meeting on Mar. 20 was Community Regeneration. One of the country’s leading authorities on the development and revitalization of residential and golf properties, DeLozier, principal of Global Golf Advisors, reviewed Rio Verde’s many competitive strengths but emphasized that this is no time to become complacent when so many new Active Adult communities are coming into the housing market. Emphasizing that first impressions really do matter, DeLozier urged the Rio Verde Community Association, the Rio Verde Country Club and the residents of Rio Verde to take inventory of needed improvements and commit to the regeneration of Rio Verde. This means investing in improving all aspects of the community. To take advantage of the current housing upswing, 40-year old communities like Rio Verde, DeLozier said, need to be investing in quality not trying to hold the line on expenses when there is a need for infrastructure improvements and added amenities to attract a new generations of retirees.
Doris Findling, Connie Sauter & Anne Ciotta
In the following months there will be lots more information in the Roadrunner about how the Rio Verde Community Association and the Rio Verde Country Club are working together to achieve Community Regeneration. New RVCA President Greg Harvey asks every resident to get involved in this revitalization effort by taking a look at their homes and property. Does your home need painting? Is your yard free of weeds and overgrown and dying trees and shrubs? Does your landscaping need updating?
Rio Verde is an Active Adult Community for Persons Age 55 and Older

More Fun Things To Do
Rio Verde’s First Dance Club Party by RVCA Recreation & Wellness Chair Judy Erfling On March 19 the first Rio Verde Dance Club Party was held in the Club’s Sundance Room. Seventy dancers, residents of Rio and Tonto, enjoyed dining and dancing to the music of Evonne Evans. Rio's Tap Dancers and Line Dancers each performed two numbers. Isis Velasques, from the Fred Astaire Dance Studio and her partner danced an exhibition Rhumba and Swing number. Prior to the party, Isis taught a six-week beginner and intermediate Ballroom Dance class here in Rio. The "new" Ballroom dancers did not perform but did take their new skills out on the dance floor along with other dancers. At one point the party goers filled the dance floor for a "learn as you go" Electric Slide number. The consensus was that it was a fun evening! The Tap and Line Dancing classes are always open for new members. Look for information next fall about another round of Ballroom Dance Lessons here in Rio.
