Project Brief Redesign block 12 of Dakota Crescent through adaptive reuse.

Design Statement Designing a space that uses art to promote cohesiveness among enthusiasts and people working with visual arts. The space compliments Goodman’s Art Centre by offering spaces and programs that they do not have. The spaces are designed based on the different level of sound in the spaces, with the entrance being the loudest and it gradually decreases as one moves through the spaces.

Site Analysis Goodman’s Arts Centre and Geylang river is beside Dakota Crescent.v Dakota Crescent is easily accessible by public transport. Dakota Crescent’s block 12 is right beside the path of a park connector.

3D Model of the project, Bento. There are different rectilinear forms in the space that corresponds with one another within a huge rectilinear form , hence it was named Bento.

Side view of the model. It shows all three storeys and how each storey is integrated with one another with the connecting structures from each storey to the next.

The design is influenced by the works of Tadao Ando. The space is created to bring together the users. The space is mainly a gathering and resting space, as well as having private space on the third level.

A front view of the model is shown on the left , while a perspective view of the second level is shown below.

RENDERINGS

3D MAX 2017

THE SUITE

This rendering was for an assignment for a 3dMax module where we were tasked to choose a colour scheme and add materials to the space , followed by rendering a night and day scene. I wanted to show how the colour scheme, materials and lighting works well with one another.

THE DINING ROOM

This rendering was for an assignment for a 3dMax module where we learnt how to work with cameras in 3dMax. I was tasked to render a few perspectives with different camera angles as well as adding materials and lighting to the space.

NIKE CONCEPT STORE

RENDERING 3D MAX 2017

Floor Plan

A Nike concept store. The aim was to give Nike a new look. In contrast to the bright and welcoming usual vibe to their retails, the design offers a more premium experience.

Instead of using glossy materials and bright colours for the store, dark coloured materials were used to design the space.
