SERVICE: EXPOSED APR 28 TO JUNE 5 TO 66 RANCH WATER 92M. DUE EARLY FEB.
Everblack Annie 8M comes from a trio of flush sisters that are outstanding. 2 of the 3 were members of the champion pen of heifers at the Vermilion fair this past summer. A full sister, Everblack Annie 90J, was the top selling female through this sale in 2022 for $20,000 to Elk Ridge Farms. Annie 8M comes from a long line of productive cows going back 31 years to the donor cow, Annie 13A, who was the top selling female in our herd reduction sale in 1995. Fast forward to 2008 when the next donor, Annie 92U, was born. She was an elite cow in the angus database and was one of the more productive cows we have raised. We then decided to flush Annie 49F as this mating has worked so well. Annie 8M has a huge spring to her rib, she’s sweet fronted with a nice head and very hairy. The sire, BAR-E-L Stamina 11F has risen to the top of our program the old-fashioned way, by proving his worth. His daughters are making beautiful cows, lots of middle, ample performance, and sweet udders. The sons have been very well received by the cowboys in our spring bull sale. An added highlight would be the service to our junior calving ease sire, 66 Ranch Water 92M who commanded $30,000 last spring.

SERVICE: EXPOSED APR 17 TO JUNE 5 TO 66 RANCH WATER 92M. DUE MID FEB.
Everblack Countess 94M is your typical Stamina female. She is deep bodied, big barrelled, has tons of hair, and looks to be setting down a really nice udder. A full brother sold trough our bull sale to Smitty Ranching of vermilion, and a maternal sister is working at Autumn Dew in Windthorst SK. The grandam, Lookout Countess 76U was an outstanding cow. She produced until 14 yrs of age and left us with numerous productive females. The sire of Countess 94M has made quite a name for himself through production. BAR-E-L Stamina 11F has gained popularity the older he gets. To date we have sold 91 head at auction for an average of $12,308. What’s even more impressive is that the males and females averaged very close to the same amount, we have never had a more consistent group of offspring. Countess 94M is bred for a mid Feb baby to our new calving ease sire 66 Ranch Water 92M.

A near perfect udder setting up under this big, framed power female. 21M is the result of a past purchase from the Ladies of the West Sale and we are excited to showcase this type in this year’s sale. Her dam did a tremendous job raising this heifer as a 2-year-old and weaned her off over 900lbs. If Genetics shows us anything this bred should follow in her dam’s footprints and be a strong milker with performance on her side. Due mid-January to HF Homesteader 158L, this outcross pedigree is a great addition to anyone’s herd.

SERVICE: A.I. APRIL 3 TO COLEMAN BRAVO 6313. DUE JAN 10.
RFTD Blackwood 4216M is a female that has stood out since birth. Her presence is described by many as “captivating” through a matching front end to her Sire, DAJS Power Trip 322. A look into her pedigree further brings to reason her size and performance given to her by the sires stacked in her pedigree. Brooking Firebrand & Banknote, PVF Insight, SAV Brillance, EXAR Blue Chip. Not to go unnoted, are the cow families behind her such as Annie K and Rose. This heifer is one that will bring into your program the things that matter. Size, Proper Structure, Performance, & Fertility. Her MGD has always caught to A.I. service since her first calf, and with that it is no surprise that RFTD Blackwood 4216M carries an early A.I. Service to none other than the
ease of Coleman Bravo 6313.

This Deer Valley Growth Fund daughter is a stylish, feminine heifer with a smooth stride, correct skeletal structure and pleasant disposition. MER 1M’s dam is HF Evening Tinge 36J, the matriarch of our Evening Tinge family. 36J has earned donor status with us through her phenomenal production record, perfect feet and foot structure, udder, disposition and so far, impressive fertility. Her first calf, MER 1L sold as one of the high sellers at last year’s Ladies of the West sale to a great program at Everblack Angus. MER 1M has the genotype and phenotype to have an impressive future ahead of her. Bred to Sitz Resilient, she has the potential to knock it out of the park with her first calf. Parent Verified. Her fleshing ability is second to none, she came home from pasture looking ready for the sale. She has a gentle disposition and an easy-going temperament. MER 10M’s dam, Rockies Fay 11J, one of the widest and deepest animals in our herd is a beautiful young moderate framed cow that came to us in dam from Blairs. AG Cattle Co. She has a good stride, pleasant temperament and a picture-perfect udder. When we bred MER 11J to HF Roper 27F we were hoping for a calving ease bull for our program but the way MER 10M has developed, we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Whether she is carrying a bull calf or a heifer calf, the pregnancy MER 10M is carrying should make a valuable addition to any program.

On the bottom side, her maternal grandsire, Avelyn Apollo Creed (a bull we raised), traces back to the legendary Gumbo Gulch Creed 94S — a sire who could have a book written about the females he produced. 21M is a big, powerful female with tremendous volume, depth, and rib shape that turns heads wherever she goes. Long-spined and big-boned, she combines mass and muscle with femininity and balance. Her beautiful head and skull design complete the package, giving her the look and presence that set her apart in any pasture. She’s laying down a beautiful udder and is due mid-January to our $30,000 HAMI 114M purchased this spring from Hamilton’s — a bull we unfortunately lost after only a month of service. This family has been delivering top-end bulls and efficient, hard-working females for years, and 223M is no exception. Her dam, 223E, was an embryo by Excalibur 32X, one of the greatest herdsires to walk at Youngdale Angus — a bull with longevity and progeny we just keep coming back to. On the sire side, Cudlobe Growth Fund 20J, the high seller from the 2021 Cudlobe Bull Sale, added extra style and presence to this heifer. She’s due early March to Avelyn Montana 303M, a Brookdale Brutus 390 son we kept for our program this past spring. Folks, take a look here — 850M is a standout daughter of the great calving-ease sire, Stevenson Turning Point! This heifer’s got the look and the build to raise bulls — she’s big-topped, deep-sided, with that spring of rib and “engine room” every cow needs to make herd sires.
Her dam’s an SAV America daughter we bought out of the Northern Select Sale from our good friends at Clement Cote Angus — a cow with the kind of depth, dimension, and power that keeps our cow families consistent and productive year after year. Now here’s the highlight — 850M is confirmed bred to our high-selling HF Showtime son, Avelyn Mr. Macho 231M, who sold to Elliott Brothers down at Brownfield. We managed to buy a share back and run him for a short cycle, and our vet called it — “bull calf” — due early January 2026! A member of our foundation Erica Kay cow family which has been very well represented in past shows and sales over the years, including a $15,000 heifer to Rockies R in the 2024 LOTW. Erica Kays were also selected recently by Triple L Angus, Ron McLeod and Bitter Creek Angus. 14M is also a smooth made, correct footed, powerful 20J daughter with a little extra frame. Impressive performance along with femininity and boasts a long list of popular AI sires in her pedigree. Her young dam 55J has done a super job on her first 2 daughters including an impressive, moderate framed 2-year-old that raised one of our top 2025 bull calves by Justification. The service sire 1K was a high selling Tribute son to Chico and 3G Ventures from MWC’s Bull Sale. He has done a stellar job here and his dam, MWC Rosebud 6F (my favourite of the entire MWC herd) sold in the MWC Dispersal for $35,000.

A moderate framed, smooth made and easy doing heifer. All these Chico sale heifers came off pasture mid October in great condition with good feet and the start of great udders. That’s the ones Mark selects each year when he gets the pick of our bred heifers. 15M is from the Bellemere cow family that has done it all – herd bulls, foundation females, show and sale cattle. Other Bellemere LOTW lots include daughters at $14,000 and $10,000 to 66 Ranch and V8U Ranch. 15M’s dam 38H is an exceptional, moderate framed daughter of HF All-Round 130E. No surprise that All-Round has been well represented in the LOTW sale series with daughters and granddaughters selected by Rockies R, 66 Ranch, Rainbow Hills, Triple L, Waveny, Matlock Farms & Rancho R in Mexico. Service called to Chico Legit 45L, a Sitz Major son from a stellar, young HF Quick Draw daughter. Legit 45L is an impressive bull we used heavily this year. He now resides at Hamilton Farms.

Her genetics makeup has been a focus for us here on the farm. Striving to produce hard-working females that produce year after year. A focus on feet, leg and udder structure is a must. The cherry on the top is the breeding to the Justification bull. He is a physically impressive sire that combines legitimate body capacity, stoutness and foot quality.

Hard to part with any Square B True North daughters, but our very first time selling bred heifers, we wanted to bring our very best. The Neora Cow Family has been a very good producing cow family for us. The breeding to Duppong Demand 127 is very exciting. First one in Canada!! This combination of this mating should produce some outstanding offspring. A very sound and solid bred heifer that will be a great investment into your herd.

ARDA

SERVICE: EXPOSED APR 15 TO MAY 15 TO MERIT GUNSMOKE 4126M. DUE LATE JAN TO MID FEB.
When we decided to sell females in this sale, we knew that they had to be good ones. Madison 122M is the first to sell from the SAV Triumph 2980 bull purchased in 2023, and she would arguably be the best of that group. There have been a few Territory sons brought to Canada over the last few years and it’s easy to see why. 122M is as thick and deep as they come with an attractive angularity to her as well. The ARDA Cash Flow daughters have been outstanding, front pasture cattle. That breeding group of his daughters actually got so large we had to split it in half, with 156F being one of the most productive and eye appealing in the group. When we were looking for a bull to breed this group the Merit Gunsmoke 4126M, was very appealing. We feel that the calf 122M is carrying will be very interesting and should become a standout in any herd.

210M is a real eye catcher as well. The Mogal 154K bull was the result from a package of embryos purchased from Brooking Angus. We retained in herd semen when he became our high seller in 2023 going to Highland Angus in Bragg Creek. 210M is carrying the wrong name after a bit of a registration screw up but the Norma cow family that has become a real mainstay in our herd. The maternal genetics from Top Line Lady 102 on the top side and Hoover Dam from the maternal side should make for a very productive cow. She is also bred to Merit Gunsmoke 4126M. If you take a minute to check out the footnote from this bull Trent has a picture of his dam’s udder which could not be more perfect.

We strive to make cattle like Glamorous 33M- big bodied, sound and proud. 33M goes back to the Selena cow family which has been a main stay in our program. They’re maternally loaded with consistency and longevity all while having the ability to raise a quality calf no matter what way you breed them. We calved out her sire, Red Ter-Ron Ozark 35J’s, first set of daughters this year and they have been nothing short of incredible. Nice, tidy udders with ideal teat placement and milking ability. Another Ozark daughter was the high seller at the Chinook Harvest sale last fall and is currently working at Ter-Ron Farms. We are excited to offer Glamorous because of the quality she holds but we are equally as sad to see her go. We love this cow family and truly feel this bred heifer will make a positive impact in any breeder’s program. Walked with our new herdbull, the $40,000 Red Piro Damascus 471M, a dark cherry red, great footed bull. We will pay for a DNA test on this calf to clear up any DNA discrepancies.

Here is a bred that is correct, feminine and laying down an attractive udder. The Brandy cow family shouts performance and with this heifer being from a first calver, the proof is in the pudding. Red Allison Brandy 129K was purchased out of the Allison program in 2023 and she continues to knock it out of the park as a young cow. We’re excited to watch her mature, and she is quickly becoming a pen favourite. Red Reverse GC Brandy 99M is an easy doing female who is a replica of her dam. She has tons of hair, added shape and is as solid and honest as they come. We have high hopes for this female and feel she comes with all the basics for years of quality production. An intriguing addition to any herd, Thelma 304M offers a rare opportunity to acquire a daughter of Red DMM Merlot 66D from a distinguished cow family. We had originally planned to retain all our Merlot daughters, as semen is very limited on him, and he is stacked with strong maternal donor dams throughout his pedigree. Thelma 304M also traces back to proven donor dams of Harvestor 103C and Thelma 84Y. We expect 304M to develop into a productive brood cow prospect, capable of carrying forward the strength of her donor dam lineage. If she carries half the influence of her maternal ancestors, her new owner will be very pleased. Maternal sister sold to Piro Red Angus in Last Year’s LOTW Sale.

No need to rub your eyes and double check you’re seeing that 327M is a direct daughter of Red SSS Soldier 365W.We found a couple straws of Soldier and used him selectively on some of our most powerful cows, hoping to produce standout replacement females. Her dam, purchased from Double C Red Angus, has been a great addition to our herd bringing a unique pedigree and raising top calves each year including a high selling bull to Mixburn Farming to use on their purebred cows. 327M combines unique and proven bloodlines, making her a valuable addition to any herd focused on growth, longevity, and maternal excellence. 327M is bred to our pick of the Cockburn bull pen, Cockburn Copper 4131. We were on the search for a dark red calving ease bull and were drawn to his combination of Seneca and the Cora cow family. We are looking forward to seeing these calves on the ground.

MS Gravity 72M is a real easy keeping, broody kind of heifer, and she gets out and moves with ease. She’s been a real eye catcher by many visitors to the farm. She was also on display at the northern Alberta angus tour in august. She had a lot of friends that day. 72M’s dam is a very sound, fertile, brood cow too. She has phenomenal feet, and a picture-perfect udder. 72M will make a great addition for her new owner and will be a producer. Sire to 72M is Red MRLA Respect 42G, his daughters here have been great cows, having raised some top calves. They are also easy keeping with great feet and udders. Mark was only allowed to select 72M because we have flushmate sister kept in the herd. Take her home and she won’t disappoint. Ms Gravity 72M is bred to our go-to heifer bull from SSS, Red SSS Tempo 263L. He has calved great here, and is docile with a really great foot, with that dark red color we all want.

It is my pleasure to invite you all to the 5th Annual Ladies Of The West Bred Heifer Sale. Every year this sale carries more traction with the quality of bred heifers brought to this event by these consignors. When I first thought of this sale, it was for folks who aren’t on the show road to market and sell front end bred heifers because they can do what the new owners need them to do, raise progeny without any issues. The sale has been a huge success with the quality of the bred heifers competing against any sale in the land.
The females that have been selected are right from the top of the consignor’s programs. As they all know, you best bring the good ones to town. This year again they have dug deep into the keeper pen and presented you with an amazing lineup for your appraisal. It has become a sale everyone will not want to miss with the opportunity to buy bred heifers that are made to make an impact on your herd right away with low maintenance, easy doing cattle and bred to top A.I. or walking bulls. The consignors as well as good folks that back their programs up. We will be pairing up females again that have even numbers. We will have some great hospitality as we have had in the past the night before at the Auction Mart where laughs are had, and stories told. Videos of all the bred heifers will be done the day before and put up onto www.cattlevids.ca. Since the sale is a bit later in December than usual, trucking will be coordinated or some of the consignors will offer to calve out their bred heifers for you.
If you need any assistance, please do hesitate to call myself or any of the consignors directly. The OBI Team will be at the sale facility a day before the sale to help with your needs.
