“ I don’t want to go to school!” I yelled my mom. It was the first day at the American School In Japan (ASIJ) for me, but not for everyone else. Mom forced me to get out of my bed and go to school. I got on the school bus for the first time. I tried to say “hi” but I was too shy. I just sat down at my seat. When I got to school I didn’t know where my classroom was. I asked many people where is Mrs. Adams classroom, but no one would tell me. When I thought there was no hope finally this kind person told me where my classroom was. When I got there the teacher introduced her self. “My name is Mrs. Adams.” said the kind lady. ”Nice to meet you.” I replied. It was the first time at kindergarten at ASIJ. Since one week had past for the other kids they seemed to already have friends. I finally got the courage to say f hi but no one answered. Everyone ran outside, so I went to. I tried playing with some kids but they wouldn’t let me in to there play. It was time to go inside. We were writing our first story. We weren’t good spellers. So we kept on asking the teacher how to spell this certain word. After a few minutes it was recess. We ran to the playground like a cheetah trying to catch its prey. When we got there I tried to ask one of the boys, “Can I lay with you?” but no one answered yes. so I decided just to walk around the school. “Trilling,” the recess bell rang. I walked sadly back to the classroom. When I got back to the classroom the teacher asked the class what did we do for recess. Everyone had something to say but me. When it was my turn to speak I said nothing. Then the teacher immediately gave a person to play with but that didn’t work either because they ditched me. When the teacher asked me what I did with two boys I said nothing because they ditched me. So the two boys got in trouble. The next recess they actually played with me because they didn’t want to get in trouble. So when we played I played what they played. We were having fun we all forgot I was new to this school we were playing like dancing butterflies soaring threw the air. When recess ended we all were laughing back to our class room the teacher also seemed happy because I made new friends on my first day of kindergarten. The teacher asked me, ” What were you playing this recess you seem very happy? I said,

p” I played tag.” Then school ended happily. The next day at school all of my new friends said, “Hi.” I said hi back. When it was time for the morning recess all of my new friends and I were all playing happily ever after.
