GENERAL MANAGER AMESSAGE fromthe

DearMember,

2025 Member Survey Overview: Listening, Acting, and Building Toward 2026

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year ’ s Member Survey. Your input continues to shape our priorities and strengthen the member experience at The Governors Club. With more than 450 responses, the survey provided a clear understanding of where we ’ ve made meaningful progress and where we have opportunities to improve.

Overall Satisfaction & Key Takeaways

Overall satisfaction rose to 7.2 out of 10, reflecting strong momentum in course conditions, food and beverage quality, and communication. Members continue to express pride in our community and deep appreciation for the professionalism and dedication of our team.

What’s Been Accomplished

• Course Conditions: Phase 1 of our bunker renovation was completed with excellent member feedback, significantly enhancing both aesthetics and playability.

• Maintenance & Playability: Members noted noticeable year-over-year improvement across fairways, greens, and tee boxes thanks to enhanced agronomy practices and targeted drainage work

• Communication: With the addition of a full-time Membership Communications & Marketing Director, members are receiving more timely and transparent updates across all channels.

• Member Experience: Chef Lee and the F&B team continue to elevate the dining program through menu development, staff training, and improved service consistency.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we plan for the year ahead, we remain focused on sustaining and building upon this momentum:

• Course & Facility Enhancements: Completion of Phase 2 bunker renovation and pond dredging on holes #3 and #5. Early planning is also underway for clubhouse and locker room refresh projects.

• Service & Experience: Continued emphasis on name recognition, consistency, and a proactive hospitality culture across all departments.

• Programming & Engagement: Expansion of popular social and family programs, as well as new adult-oriented offerings and seasonal events

• Communication & Transparency: Increased frequency of updates on capital planning, project progress, and operational highlights

Enhanced Communication Efforts

Beginning in 2026, we will introduce several new communication touchpoints to keep you better informed and connected:

• GM Video Messages highlighting project progress and behind-the-scenes updates.

• Regular communications from Chef Lee, Mark Bielski, and Glen Murray with timely dining, event, and agronomy insights.

• A standing “Progress Report” in each newsletter summarizing project milestones, service updates, and key initiatives.

Continuing to Listen

This offseason, we will continue refining our plans based on your feedback. Additionally, we will begin implementing short, focused pulse surveys throughout the year to gather real-time insights, allowing us to respond more quickly and continue improving the member experience.

Member Roster Update Reminder

It has been several years since we ’ ve refreshed our records for member dependents If you have welcomed children to your family since joining the Club, please let us know so we can add them to your member profile and make event registration quick and seamless Please send any updates to Jodie Anderson at janderson@thegovernorsclub net Thank you for helping us keep our records current!

Employee Holiday Fund Final Reminder

As a final reminder, members who wish to participate in the Employee Holiday Fund are encouraged to do so before December 9. This voluntary fund is a wonderful way to recognize the many employees seen and unseen who contribute to the quality and warmth of the member experience. Senior staff are excluded from distribution; 100% of contributions go directly to eligible employees based on tenure and employment classification. To contribute in recommended increments of $50 or $100, please contact the Accounting Office at (615) 776-4344 or email janderson@thegovernorsclub.net.

Warm Holiday Wishes

The grip of a golf club is the most important part of the club it is the connection point between the player and their equipment. If your grips are worn, it can affect your ability to control the golf club, yet many players neglect this and continue playing with grips that are past their lifespan In general, you should regrip your clubs at least once a year or every 40 to 50 rounds, whichever comes first More frequent replacement may be necessary if you live in a hot or humid climate, play a lot of golf, or spend significant time on the practice range.

Common signs that it’s time to regrip include a loss of traction (such as the grip feeling slippery or failing the pinch test), visible cracks or worn patches, a hard or shiny texture indicating the material has become brittle, or noticeable discoloration

As we move into the off-season, the Club Professional Staff would love to work with any member who needs help with this common issue. The Golf Shop can acquire and install grips in a timely manner If you would like to have your clubs regripped, please call the Golf Shop to set up an appointment!

The Golf Shop has you covered.

Entertaining

The holiday season is the perfect time to open your home to family, friends, and colleagues. With a few thoughtful touches, you can turn any gathering into a warm, memorable event. Whether you ’ re hosting a formal dinner, a casual cocktail evening, or a festive brunch, planning ahead helps everything feel effortless and welcoming.

Start with your décor. Fresh greenery, soft lighting, and natural textures bring the season to life. Mix magnolia leaves with gold or silver accents for a classic Southern look. Add white poinsettias or amaryllis arrangements for simple elegance. Keep your color palette consistent throughout the main living spaces to create a seamless, polished atmosphere.

The dining table is where guests linger longest, so make it shine. Use crisp linens, quality glassware, and layered textures to add depth. Velvet runners, crystal candleholders, and subtle metallic details create warmth and sophistication. Personalized name cards or small ornaments at each setting make guests feel special. Low floral centerpieces keep conversation easy and add charm without blocking the view.

Good food and drink bring everything together. If you’d rather not spend the night in the kitchen, consider hiring a caterer or private chef. Signature cocktails, a well-paired wine list, or a curated charcuterie board elevate any event. For professional gatherings, soft live music or a tasting experience can create a relaxed yet refined atmosphere.

True hospitality is about comfort and connection. Light the entryway, play soft background music, and have a few cozy spots where guests can relax and talk. Send guests home with a small token of appreciation, like locally made treats or a candle tied with ribbon. These simple gestures leave a lasting impression.

At The Governors Club, the holidays are about creating moments of warmth, beauty, and togetherness. With care and creativity, your home can become the setting for memories that last well beyond the season.

GOLF COURSE NEWS & UPDATES

GlenMurry

As we transition into the cooler season, I wanted to share a few important reminders and updates on projects currently underway around the Club.

Tree Trimming and Removal

During the next few months, we have selected a few trees that are either crowding our greens or casting a big shadow on a fairway. These trees are the root cause of thinning turf and raise disease pressure due to the lack of sunshine from their shadow. Warm season turf has a need for prolonged sunshine to achieve the playing conditions we all expect. We use certain apps to identify the length of time certain areas remain in direct sunlight. We have already removed trees behind 17 green to gain valuable hours of sunlight in that area. Continued selective removal will enhance the property going forward. Click to learn more.

Putting Greens

We will monitor throughout the colder months, installing covers over putting greens as needed. Click to learn more.

Fairways

To further protect turf conditions during the colder months, we will continue to be cart path only.

We appreciate your support and understanding as these projects move forward and look forward to showcasing the improvements in the months ahead.
