As the crisp air of fall settles in and winter begins to whisper through bare branches, I find myself savoring the comforting rhythm of the colder months especially through the food they inspire. There’s something deeply satisfying about slow-cooked meals that warm both body and soul. Nothing embodies that feeling better than one of the new selections from our new Fall/Winter Club Menu, the Braised Lamb Shank Rich, aromatic, and tender, it’s the kind of dish that feels like a celebration of the season itself Paired with root vegetables and a splash of red wine, it’s perfect for a quiet evening spent indoors. I invite you to try it next time you’re at the Club

Dear Member,
Fall has arrived and the fall weather continues to be kind The golf course is in outstanding shape providing firm and fast playing conditions. The fall color is still amazing and the trees are dropping their leaves at an accelerated rate The Course & Grounds team is working hard to keep the course leaf free so you can make your putts and find your balls.
Construction has wrapped up on the golf course and all the newly renovated areas are healing beautifully. #6 green has been opened for play and will continue to smooth out with aerification and topdressing applications through the winter and next spring The new irrigation on holes #2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 tee is working great and we now have the ability to irrigate areas of the course that have never been watered before. Tree pruning and removals continue to open up the views and improve playability along with creating a better growing environment for the turfgrass
The Course & Grounds team is working hard to improve the quality of our rough around the course again this fall Over 6,000 pounds of Tall Fescue seed has been sewn into thin areas around the property. Please be sure to obey the roped off areas and signs to ensure the seed has time to germinate through the fall and winter months Fairways have also been overseeded with Ryegrass seed and have filled in and look fantastic
As temperatures continue to fall, if you have an early tee time, please check with the golf shop to be sure there isn’t any frost before heading onto the practice areas Walking and riding on frost covered turf can cause unsightly damage that may also kill the plants.
Thank you to everyone who completed the 2025 Member Survey We received 170 responses, which gives the Management Team important feedback on how we are doing and what you would like to see improved The survey is a great tool that we use to develop action plans to enhance your experience at Holly Hills

We have added some great new events to the calendar for the winter months including Karaoke Night, Mixology Class, Black Friday Specials, Interactive Kids Movie Night, DIY Swag Night, and the Kids New Years Eve Countdown Other great classic events include Live Music, Thanksgiving To Go, Yoga, Santa Brunches, Ugly Sweater Contest and Gingerbread House Making
A special thank you to everyone who came out to the Divot Filling Gatherings this summer; we always have a great time. Our last event had over 50 members who came out to help keep our course beautiful while enjoying complimentary beverages, great conversations and meeting new people It was great to see so many members taking pride in protecting their course.
We are working on the capital improvement list for 2026 and will continue to invest in all of our facilities including the pool, racquet courts and golf course. I will keep you updated as decisions are made.
This is the perfect time to refer a friend to join the Club We have a great referral program called The Champions of Growth. Referral awards include guest passes, an invitation to the year-end grand celebration and the opportunity to win 6-months free dues in the year-end raffle As you see new faces around the Club, please be sure to welcome them to the Holly Hills Family. Please reach out to our Membership Director, Trish Flora for additional information at tflora@hollyhillsgolfcom
I look forward to seeing you around the club

As the growing season is coming to an end, we are excited to have another phase of the golf course improvement plan completed The new irrigation installation on holes #2-7, and #8 tee complex has already made a big difference in turf quality. This corner of the golf course in my experience has always been extremely dry because of the soil types, tree root competition, and the lack of coverage from the original irrigation system We will now be able to establish turf and keep it alive in areas that have generally been void of grass due to drought conditions The new bunkers and the upgraded green surrounds on these holes also look fantastic, as the sod has knitted together nicely We continue to train the new grass down to the proper height of cut, which for the rough is 225” and for the fairways and approaches is 05” Our newly contoured and sodded green on #6 is also looking strong and pushing down new roots each day.
Our end of season maintenance activities are going smoothly We continue to put seed in the ground wherever necessary, including some tee and fairway spots, along with any areas in the rough as needed. So far, we have put over 4,000 pounds of tall fescue seed in the ground, and much of it has germinated so far We have already aerified and topdressed all of the tees and will have completed our greens aeration by the time this newsletter is released. All of our fall processes, including aeration, topdressing, and fertilization will help us prepare the golf course for a successful spring and summer next year

Technology is getting better in all types of business, including golf course management. We currently have an autonomous (robot) mower that is being trialed here on our property These robots are gaining popularity among golf courses because of the current labor shortage, the increasing cost of large area mowers, higher fuel costs, and overall high quality of these new mowers Although the mower is small, it can operate at all hours of the day and/or night It has a rechargeable battery and will find its way back to its charging dock when the battery starts to get low. I do believe at some point soon that these robots will be an important part of this industry going forward

I hope everyone is enjoying some beautiful fall weather, and I look forward to seeing you out on the golf course
