Are you healthy? Do you get your body moving?
Do you eat well? Is your mind clear?
The first step- Get Motivated! I don't mean get motivated by 'get up and start running'. I mean get motivated by just taking the first step and think about what is it that you can do for yourself to be healthier, have more energy and feel good, inside and out.
The Mind- The mind is a very powerful tool and controls everything we do and say, without even thinking most of the time. Maybe we say to ourselves that, 'Im not going to eat any junk food today' and then a friend stops in for a coffee and brings a dozen chocolate coated, custard filled hot gooey donuts, 'damn it', you say, oh fuck it and feel obliged to eat them. Before you've even had a chance to think about your "no-eating" junk food day your mind had told you its ok to eat them. It takes a lot of strength and determination, it's not always easy to say no but with Mindpower, you can do it. I have to work on it every day, I am a sucker for chocolate. The trick is to tell yourself you don't want it, before it's too late and you're shoving that crunchy bar down your gob like there's no tomorrow, oopsy. Try a healthier alternative down the health food aisle of the supermarket. The Body- The body is our temple, we should treat it with love and respect. We tend to take our bodies for granted when we're healthy and doing the activities that we love until something drastic happens to us like a broken bone, a back injury, a torn muscle, an illness etc, that is when you can really appreciate your body and everything it does for you. So you don't need to be an athlete or a gym junkie to have a healthy body. All it takes is a daily walk along the beach, a bike ride, a swim in the ocean or just parking the car further away from the shops or taking the stairs instead of the lift. A little bit of exercise is better than none at all and the more you do it the stronger you'll get and start doing a little bit more each time. You will feel a lot better when you start movin that bootie. Your body will thank you for it. The Spirit- The Spirit, the nonphysical part of a person which is the essence of our emotions, moods and inner being. The spirit gives life to the body and without it it is dead. It would be impossible to be in high spirits every second of every day but we must remember no matter what, we have a choice.
We make the choice to be happy, sad, grumpy, content, hurt, frustrated, anxious, disappointed or guilty. Whatever the emotion we have the power to change it. That's where the mind comes in, change your mind change your emotion. It takes practice but you can do it. It's hard to be motivated and productive when you're feeling sad and down but changing your thought pattern and doing something different like, taking a walk down the beach, getting out in nature, doing some yoga or meditating can change your mood immediately.
