September 7-October 31 “Paintings by the Animals at the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary” These fascinating paintings are actually painted by the animals at the zoo. Bears, mountain lions, and other animals were given non-toxic paints to create their unique masterpieces!
November 9-January 4 “Folsom Focus” Photography Contest Join us to view this annual local competition attracting over 300 photographic entries by kids and adults, with six subject matter categories. See page 2 for contest details.

If you can use your SLR camera on manual then come and learn how to manipulate light at any time of day and under any conditions. During this course learn the difference between quantity, quality, and direction of light. Photography Intermediate 202: Macro Nature is exciting to photograph and nature photos are a beautiful addition to your wall. This course offers one of the most fun types of nature photography - MACRO. Learn about the equipment and techniques you need to get close to your subject. Art with the Animals at Folsom Zoo
Using their paws and non-toxic paints, zoo animals create beautiful artwork. Join a zookeeper as an animal artist paints a masterpiece for you! Our featured animal “artists in residence” include bears, cougars, wolves, foxes and tigers. For $150 (plus tax) you select your animal artist and up to three colors of paint for them to use;then you come and watch while the painting is created for you. Pressed for time? Just choose your animal artist and up to three colors for $100 – we’ll have the painting created for you and ready for pickup.
