“GUIDING LEADERS ONE CHILD AT A TIME”

INSTRUCTION BEGINS AT 8:00 AM Every morning at the 7:55 am bell, we will announce to turn TV on to the Morning Show (don’t want to miss important, daily info and student recognitions) and this will help remind all parents and visitors to please sign in at the office if you are volunteering/staying on campus past 8:00 am. At Bailey, we know that “If it’s Eight, you’re LATE!” because instruction begins at 8:00 am. THANKS for encouraging this with your child since at Bailey Elementary, “if you miss school, you miss out!”

STUDENTS ARE NOT TO BE ON CAMPUS BEFORE 7:30 A.M. UNLESS THEY ARE PARTICIPATING IN OUR EARLY BREAKFAST PROGRAM. Teachers are not on duty until 7:30 a.m. and children are not supervised until 7:30 a.m. For the safety of your child, DO NOT leave them at school unattended! All visitors and volunteers must present a driver’s license or State-issued photo ID each and every time they are on campus. This system provides us with an immediate and current background check on all visitors and volunteers to our campus. A photo ID has always been required to sign-out your child; however, a valid driver’s license MUST BE SHOWN EVERY TIME YOU COME to Bailey under this check-in system. Thank you for all the positive feedback received as we ensure a safe learning environment for all!

TEACHERS GO TO SCHOOL TOO Education is always ongoing for our teachers. All teachers must earn 120 hours of in-service credit or six college credits every five years in order to renew their certificate. In addition, some teachers are enrolled in courses that will lead to a higher degree or are taking classes to complete certification requirements for their current position. The following teachers are teaching out of field but are working toward specific certification: Rebecca Thoms in Gifted Certification and Timothy Dunn in ESE certification. Bailey teachers who are teaching out of field and working toward an ESOL endorsement include: Alicia Gross, Mindy Walker, Nahomi Kenny, Shea Bagley, Mindy Bayse, Kelly Derushia, Julie Kaufmann, Lisa Fidell, Sara Humpries, Nicole Jones, Cecelia Griess, Elizabeth Hancox, Casterdell Hanford, Becky Thoms, Theresa Scheitz, Timothy Dunn, Ben Varghese and Kyna Betancourt.
