Sportive a huge success. Kilmacow Wheelers held their 2nd Sportive on Sunday last, in bitterly cold conditions nearly 200 cyclists took to the course to help raise funds for the Thomas Hayes Trust (Teac Tom).

A big thank you to all the cyclist's who took part and special thank you to all those who helped out along the course and with catering. Kilmacow Wheelers have trips taking place every weekend, there is usually an A and B group heading out for a cycle, there is a whatsapp group you can join to keep afoot of trips text 086-8151401.

Kilmacow Camogie: The Abbey March on: The Abbey Community College girls followed up their Leinster Championship win with a great win over St.Wolstans Celbridge in the All Ireland Semi Final last Saturday. The girls now await a date and venue for their All Ireland Final. There are no less than 8 Kilmacow girls on the team. Best of luck girls.
Sincere Thank You; Martina and the organising committee would like to extend a huge thank you to all friends, neighbours and businesses who donated spot prizes, brought along cakes and food and supported last Saturday’s events. The Coffee Morning, Football Tournament and night at the Fox’s Den helped to raise €1,105 for Pieta House in Damiens memory. Thanks also to the Fox’s Den and Daybreak Kilmacow for their support. U14 Football League: The Kilmacow U14 team travelled to Bennetsbridge tonight Thursday to play their second game in the Kilkenny Football League. Unfortunately they suffered their first defeat of the year. The lads will play Tullogher in their final group game on Sunday week, while the U13 hurlers will travel to Carlow to take on Carlow Town in the first round of the Leinster League next Thursday night.
A Night at the Dog’s: Kilmacow GAA club is hosting a dog night in Kilcohan next Saturday the 25th of February. It promises to be a good night with friends, families and neighbours. Tickets available from all coaches, committee members & players - €10 per person or €20 for an all in family ticket. Door prizes for tickets presented & a mega raffle on the night ! Come along and have some fun & a flutter.
This Friday 17th Feb will see a quiz in the Fox’s Den in aid of St. Senan’s National School. The quiz which is organised by the Parents’ Association will start at 8.00pm, great night assured so please come along and support.
Spinning Classes & Pilates Classes All pilates classes are cancelled next week due to Schools Mid Term Break, classes will resume as normal from Monday 27th February. Spinning classes are going ahead on Wednesday night only. Newcomers always welcome to all classes.

Individual medals for David Williams 4th, u/13, Sophie Jackman 6th u/15 and Eoin Aylward 11th u/11 in the B All Irelands in Waterford last weekend.
A hilly and testing course also saw our u/11 team of Eoin Aylward, Shane Morrissey, Issac Under 11 Result: Our Under 11s braved the Carew and Michael O’Shea get 2nd club – with cold weather last weekend and travelled to all 4 on the Kilkenny county team that got 3rd. play Tramore. Two great matches were Our boys u/13 team of David Williams, Naoise played with the home team coming out on top Gilmartin, Jack O’Neill and Tadgh Connolly in both - but only just. Well done boys, keep finished a close 2nd in the club section – all four up the good work and see ye all at training boys were on the Kilkenny county team that every Thursday. also finished 2nd. Under 13 Result: Kilmacow 1 Dungarvan 3 This was a battling performance from a under strength team against a good Dungarvan side. The visitors went 2-0 up early on. Ciaran Murray was doing a great job in leading a fight back with some great midfield play. On one of his breaks from midfield he picked out Shane Egan who scored with a great shot from outside the box. The second half was fairly even with few chances. Dungarvan made the game safe with what was a very fortunate third goal. Brian had 5 Under 12s in his squad today with Shane, Jack Quinn and Tom Reddy making their debuts for the U13 team. They all did very well including the great goal from Shane. Kilmacow's man-of-the-match was Ciaran Murray. Cup Draws: Div 1B - Away v Ballyduff
Others to run and do very well were Girls u/11, Aine O’Callaghan, Grace Ramasawmy, Amelia Walsh and Keelin Duggan. In the girls u/13 Libby Murphy, Sophie Williams and Sophie Monahan. Well done to all for enduring the bitter artic conditions. Meanwhile in Athlone more of our athletes were experiencing the warmth of the indoor arena. These Leinster Indoor Championships saw 7 athletes come away with a gold, silver and bronze medal and two 4th places. With the clash of the All Irelands our representation at the Leinster’s was somewhat limited this year. Gold for Mark Wallis in the u/14 shot with Tadgh Connolly 4th. Bronze for Niall Voeglaar in the boys u/15 shot. Saoirse Allen was 2nd in the u/14 High Jump and Keelin Roche was 4th in the u/13 Long Jump. Well done to Caoimhe Phelan, Molly Long, Juliette Evans who also competed on the day.
Our elder lemons were also relishing in success. Adele Walsh was 7th overall in the Masters All Div 3 - Home v Portlaw or Carrick Ireland Cross Country in Waterford – with 5th in the Female over 40 section. Michelle Div 4 - Away v Johnville McDonald was 3rd in the Anne Valley 5km with Youths - Away v Dungravan Patsy Foskin 1st in the over 60 section. Patsy also recently won the over 60s section of the Fixtures: John Treacy 10 mile event in West Waterford. Sat 18th U12s Away to F-bank, KO 10.30am Well done to all. 4th Div Home to Johnville, KO 2pm Good luck to all our athletes competing in the Munster Schools this week. Disappointing verdict for KK: The long awaited verdict from the boundary review committee released an extremely disappointing recommendation last week and we wait to see how this will progress.

Defibrillator information: A mobile unit is located in Rosedale Residential Home with 24 hr access. Also in a secure box on the outside wall of the Foxes Den with a key available to the box in the following locations; The Foxes Den, The Day Break Shop and Rosedale Residential Home.

Plans are under way to host a major endurance event on the Sports Complex in early May. The event will be similar to a lot of the Mud Run/ Challenge events that have become very popular around the country in recent years.
