Christmas Fair this Sat !

U21 Hurlers re-unite:

This years Christmas Fair takes place this Saturday the 3rd December, kicking off at 12, there will be a number of new events included this year, loads of new tables signed up already. Stands are still available for just €20, to book your stall call the Community Centre at 051-881984.

K ilm acow ’s U2 1 Cha mp ionshi p winning team of 1995 held a reunion last weekend in The Fox’s Den. The team shown below were celebrating the 21st anniversary of their great win over the Fenians in the final of that year.

Spin the wheel:

Spin the wheel will take place at 2.30pm at this years Christmas Fair, in aid of the Sports Complex. There are a number of excellent prizes and vouchers that were donated for the Auction that will be given away on the day, so make sure to be there.

Club Awards Night: The annual Camogie Awards Night is yet to be finalised. A text and Facebook post will be sent when details are available.

Cake Sale: Please support our cake sale at this Saturday’s Christmas Fair, come early and purchase your cakes to avoid disappointment. Kilmacow ICA: Kilmacow ICA meets the first Thurs of each month except for Jan & Aug in Community Centre Kilmacow at 8pm. At recent meetings sympathy was expressed with the Coughlan family Upper Kilmacow on the death of Josie RIP, a former member of the ICA; also death of husband of former member Maureen Murtagh formerly of Dangan, RIP. Congratulations to Maura Renehan on the launch of her second book.

Club AGM: The AGM of the Adult Club was held last weekend, thanks to all who attended, full report to follow next week.

Our Guest speaker for that meeting was Bernadette Moloney environment person on the Kilkenny County Council, who spoke about the change in refuge charges from next Jan. Pat Mulvey from Enniscorthy was selling all kinds of Tupperware,

U21 reunion:

Each member is to bring a raffle prize to the Dec 1st party meeting. Nicola Geraghty will sell Aloe Vera products . The next Federation meeting is to be held before the Christmas dinner dance, cost €20 at the Newpark Hotel, Sunday 11th Dec. The next Kilmacow ICA meeting is to be held, 1st December 2016.

Table Quiz:

Kilmacow Hospice Support Group host a table quiz in the Fox’s Den, Kilmacow at 9.00pm Mon, 5th December. Table of four is €20. All support welcome.

St. Senan’s Athletic Club All Ireland in Abbotstown:

Under 12 Result: KILMACOW 5 Bohs 0 Our Under 12's played hosts to Bohs this fine frosty morning and what a game... our boys played some of their best football to date this season and duly recorded a fantastic 5-0 win. Calum Regan and Eoin Aylward scored one apiece but man-of-thematch performance was from Shane Egan, netting his second hat-trick of the season.

The club made the trip to Abbotstown for the All Ireland Junior, Senior and Juvenile Even Ages All Ireland last Sunday and turned in some strong displays. Girls Results:

In the U/12 race Caoimhe Phelan ran solidly to finish 51st in a race where Orlaith Kirwan of Thomastown was 18th. In the U/14 race Thomastown had three runners in the top ten with Aine Kirwan 3rd, Fiona Dillon 6th and Under 14 Result: Hannah O’Keefe 9th. Saoirse Allen had a fine KILMACOW 5 Stradbally 3 run in 30th place helping Kilkenny take This was a great win for the boys in a really silver. In the U/16 race Tara Ramasawmy tough match. Boys Results:

KILMACOW 2 Piltown 2 Our boys were pushed all the way by a very determined Piltown team and just about got a point in this very tight match. We scored early on when Paddy's free kick from the left found the net. The second half saw both teams enjoy periods of dominance. However, Piltown scored twice in quick succession. The good thing was that we equalised straight away. Darragh did really well and put Dean through and he did the rest.

Naoise Gilmartin was best in the U/12 race finishing in 29th with David Williams just behind in 32nd place. Ben Wallis completed the squad with Kilkenny in 6th. The U/14 race saw a fine win by Will Fox of Castlecomer in a race where Robert Finn, Tadgh Connolly and Jack O’Neill all had solid runs. Junior Results:

In the Junior girls race, Lauren Dermody was first Kilkenny woman home in 7th place with Div 1B Result: Michelle McDonald also having an excellent run. Jonathan Crowley finished in 39th place Ballyduff 2 Kilmacow 7 Our 1B team got back to winning ways with in a race that saw Peter Lynch of KCH take this win. Straight from the start we attacked silver in a tight finish. our hosts and could easily have had 3 before the first came direct from Noel’s corner. Przemek quickly got our second before Liam Kearns bundled in from another corner just before half time. We started the 2nd half in the exact same manner and got our reward with a great goal from Darrell and another from Noel. We lost a bit of composure after that and our hosts pulled 2 back. However Jamie Duggan came off the bench to bag the last 2 goals.

Rosedale Christmas Party:

Defibrillator information:

The Rosedale Christmas Party for residents, their family, friends and neighbours in Kilmacow will take place on December the 19th from 2pm to 5pm and will include music and refreshments. We will also hold a raffle on the day.

A mobile unit is located in Rosedale Residential Home with 24 hr access. Also in a secure box on the outside wall of the Foxes Den with a key available to the box in the following locations; The Foxes Den, The Day Break Shop and Rosedale Residential Home.

Hatha Yoga Classes: Beginners classes have commenced and continue every Wednesday from 7pm - 8pm. The fee for an 8 week block is €80 or €12 drop in. For further details please contact Esther at 087-4049259.

Childminder wanted.

Disco: There will be no November Disco as previously advertised. The next Disco will be on Friday 23rd December. As usual it will be for 1st – 3rd Year students. Entry only € 5.
