The Rock ‘n Roll Academy of Music Spring 2008 UF Design 4 l critic: Levent Kara
Situated in a highly dense urban environment, the John and Yoko School of Rock ‘n Roll Music explores the notion of verticality. Two narrow towers serve as the context for the school whose program pieces range from individual practice rooms to large performance halls. Circulation within the school is highly emphasized and light is filtered into the various spaces through apertures in the skin and rooms that penetrate the central atrium. Sectional relationships, visual connections and the movement of music are also important in the vertical intervention.
