Date: Saturday 7th May, 7pm to 11pm LIGHT UP THE NIGHT FOR MACMILLAN

Wollaton hall in Nottingham is preparing for a fundraising two hour walking event, lighting up the night with commemorative green lanterns. People will take part in the sponsored walk around the picturesque Wollaton Park, carrying green lanterns representative of those people lost due to cancer as well as in celebration of Macmillan's work and 100th birthday. In conjunction with Nottingham Trent University, Macmillan hopes to raise over ÂŁ2000 to help to help provide the expert practical, emotional, financial and medical support that makes a real difference to people affected by cancer. The night will consist of a two hour walk starting at 8pm around the grounds of Wollaton Park, carrying the commemorative lanterns with the finale being a group celebration with refreshments and snacks. To end the night participants participants can write on their lantern in memory of someone they have lost and hang them in the trees.
