The title of Kleeneze Distributor of the Year is bestowed upon those who have an ongoing commitment to the business. They show great leadership and inspire their teams to grow. They are the ambassadors for the business, standing for everything Kleeneze aspires to be, with strong business ethics and continued growth. In 2010, Premier Executive Distributors Craig and Magdalena White had the most team members in the Network qualifying for Hong Kong. The growth in their business was tangibly consistent. But, above all, they remained a huge inspiration – not just to their team, but to the entire Network.
So, it was no great surprise that the Distributorship behind the 2010 four-trophy win, was named Kleeneze’s newest Distributor of the Year. EWB caught up with Craig to find out what winning the trophy means to him and how he came to nab the title for a second time. You were obviously very emotional when you were named Distributor of the Year – why is this trophy so important to you? One of my passions in life is to be the very best I can be in any given situation. I’m very competitive (in a friendly way) so being recognised as being the best in the company is a very important accolade to me. However, as I said to the rest of the team afterwards, there is no ‘i’ in team and it takes all of us to make any one of us successful. It just meant so much, because we worked so hard for all the trophies and we believed 100% from the beginning that we were going to get four trophies. We worked for it, we believed it and we had a lot of people going for each trophy. I just felt that Distributor of the Year was the icing on the cake. What do you think were the reasons behind you being Distributor of the Year? All I try to do is do the best I can for the team. I work as hard as I can, learn as much as I can and be available as much as I can. I’m not sure why the company chose me, as there are some fantastic leaders in the business. All I’ve done is focus on working as hard as possible. I love speaking and I love sharing my story and my philosophies and beliefs. I do this a lot around the country for our own team, but also for others in the Network and I love doing that. If that’s something I’ve given back to the Network and maybe been a good example for others, then that’s great.
You’ve been DOTY before – how did that year differ to when you weren’t? Winning this title definitely gives you the feel-good factor and I certainly puts a spring in my step, but I believe that I may have had that anyway, because I’ve got a passion for the business. But, to be honest, this title is for our work last year. I’m already focused on the year ahead and working on my next goals. To know that the group has won the trophies and we have the Distributor of the Year does put a smile on your face, but more importantly, you know that you’re doing the right things. If we keep on doing this consistently, we’re going to create something very special now and for the future. Your team did very well in the awards this year too. Are your successes all interlinked? Without a doubt. We’ve had a competitive rivalry, but also a synergy in the group. I feel so privileged, because we’ve got such a fantastic group of people. Inspiration to me doesn’t necessarily come from the people above you in the Sales Plan, it comes from within your team. The people in my team keep me on my toes and inspire me just as much as my mum and dad [Jackie and Peter White, Gold Premier Executive Distributors] do.

The trophies belong to the team. The people who receive them are representing that team. Did you not want the VIP trophy then?! Ha, ha! We’ve made a pact that we’re looking for someone in our business to win that trophy! We’ve got some really good strong retailers, but we need someone to do more!

N THE CAKE It’s obviously your goal for the team to win all the trophies next time, but to inspire some healthy competition, what tips do you have for others in the Network?
In 2010, your team had the most people in Hong Kong. As a leader, how did you go about ensuring people stayed on track and motivation stayed high?
Firstly, it needs to be a goal – winning a trophy isn’t always important to everybody. Then you need to understand what trophy you would be in the running for going forward this year.
I have around eight weekly coaching calls with leaders within my business. Then they have their weekly coaching calls with the leaders in their businesses. These are accountability and strategy/coaching calls. It’s about recognition too - people get on there to say I’ve done x, y z. They can share that pride they feel in themselves.
Do a little research. Find out what level of business growth has won the trophies in the previous year and find out what you have to do in order to be in the running for that trophy. Put a plan together and focus on the basic fundamentals in the business. Key to success in Kleeneze is persistence and consistence. There are a few things that come from winning a trophy. One is the recognition for a year’s hard work in front of the whole Network. Two is the belief the team has because you’ve won a trophy and now they’re part of a winning team. It really catapults people forward and creates a lot of belief for the coming year. And then, of course, there’s being rewarded with qualifying for a place wherever the Destination may be. The same wind blows on us all, it’s how we choose to set our sail [Jim Rohn]. Life happens to every one of us. When we have a job, we deal with life accordingly and we still go to work. What successful people do when life happens, is deal with it accordingly, but they still work their daily plan. It’s the compound effect. Every day counts. I think you should always have a plan that scares you a little bit. When you look at the week’s plan, it should be scary, but focus on focus on each day, one day at a time, it’s not as scary. That’s possible to do. The compound effect is a good day repeated over a period of time. It leads to a fantastic year.
Between the sponsor and the team member, they put their heads together and come up with a plan to keep their business on track on a weekly basis. They’re always making slight edge adjustments according to what people have done in the past week. If people are ahead of their plan – it’s about recognition, reward and focus and how can we grow the business. If they’re behind on their plan, they put their heads together. Two heads are better than one. These calls keep everyone buzzing, but you also come up with some great ideas and strategies. It helps to keep everyone on track and that certainly was evident in Hong Kong. Now we’re planning to have about 90 people in New York! Everyone has their own definitions of what success is – what’s yours? One of my goals is to have the biggest business in Kleeneze. I want everyone else to succeed, but I’d like to do a little bit more and I’ll do that for as long as it takes. I feel obligated to work with the team, to help them in achieving their goals and their quests. Our income is consistently over £8,000 a month now, but that’s certainly not where we want to be, although I appreciate that’s where we are. However, I really want to help the team get to that level. That becomes a mission of mine - to create an empowering environment, so others can willingly follow. As our business and income keeps growing, I think my goals will keep growing with regards to the team. The further I climb, the further I see, but the further the team climb, the further they see.
