So here is my pro tip for you, just in time for the New Year:
Feng Shui works with your surroundings, both invisible (Feng translates to Wind) and visible (Shui translates to Water). The question always is: What can be done to create the perfect environment for one to thrive in? When I work with my clients, I am always striving to create a balanced, beautiful and harmonious space. The goal is to create a sanctuary for my clients, whether it is their home or their office environment.
The second most asked question is: "What can I do to start to invite good energy in to my home today?"
Look at your front door. Your front door is the Mouth of Chi. It works the same way your mouth works, by allowing energy and fresh air into your home. Wipe down your door, check the hardware. You don’t want to be broken or stuck. Check for burned out lightbulbs, dead plants, faded flowers and a worn out doormat. Replace everything that needs replacing with the intention of welcoming new and vibrant energy

into your space. Bonus: If you are having a hard time thinking clearly or making decisions, clean your windows. Your home’s windows are the eyes of the home, so cleaning them will help you “see clearly!” I hope these quick tips peak your interest. STARTING SOMETHING NEW BEGINS WITH FINDING THE MAGICAL GUIDE WITHIN. Introducing the intelligent Melissa Devine; a Healer and Spiritualist who has recently released a book highlighting ways to get out of the darkness and into the light. Katie x Have you been stuck? Lost? Motivated to change but don’t know where to start? Do you lean into the spiritual world but just not understand how all these “gurus” decipher the messages they are receiving? I’m Melissa Devine and if you answered yes to just one of these questions, I understand you. If you’re reading this, you’re probably an empath. You’re in good company, me too. As a child we are often told we are too sensitive. When we see magical guideposts and think to follow them, the world shuts us down. Tells us to be logical and slowly the connection we were born with disappears and is covered in fear. We become covered in fear. At the age of twenty-four I had begun to read a book on the law of attraction. The law of attraction is the theory and practice most commonly referred to as manifesting.
Manifesting is understanding that everything is energy and like energy attracts like energy. In other words, positive energy will attract positive people, opportunities, and circumstances and the same goes for negative energy. Once you decide what you want to manifest you begin to align with that energy. You must not block the manifestation with disbelief and you must become a vibrational match to what it is you want. Now, this all sounds easy. Just like any concept is understood, there are many nuances to putting this into practice. This is why manifesting is more than wishful thinking. At 24 a book on the law of attraction found me, but before I could finish the book, I survived a violent crime and my world turned to darkness. Trapped in a world of suicide attempts and addiction. Then one day, seven years later, I woke up. Whether your story is filled with darkness or not, most of us all have moments in life where we “wake up.” We just decide “I will never live like this again.” That is where the magic happens. So, I woke up. As soon as I did, the universe appeared. I turned on my TV and on my Netflix home

There was the loudest message of all. When something is meant for you, you cannot miss it. You can get derailed for seven years and then, there it is, once again. I began to study the law of attraction. I didn’t just use it as a magic wand to manifest my desires, although that was fun too. I used it to heal myself.

The more I followed, the faster the magic appeared. It wasn’t all magical though. It isn’t meant to be. I had healed with a high vibe hell yeah attitude and it worked for a long time. Then, I met a soulmate who reflected everything I used to be. How had I done all this work and ended up back at the very beginning? I had healed what I needed to heal at that time. Now, it was time to dive deeper. Once I understood that, I understood how to lead others on their own healing journey. Magical messages kept floating in and one leap of faith after another was taken. Months later, the synchronicities would lead me to a moment of 'aha'. It was this sentence, “Just like Joan of Arc, she raised her sword and said I am not afraid, I was born to do this.” I opened my computer and I wrote a heart wrenching vulnerable account of the trauma and the revival. “From Madness to Magic” was written. It poured out of my soul. It starts as a true crime and turns into a step-by-step guide to healing trauma on any level and an introduction into the magical realm that is around each of us. A guide to the guide above. I wrote my book for four reasons.
To reach people who are, or were, where I was. To lead people through a magical journey that will help start or broaden the vision of how magic is showing up in their life to direct their path. To give to charities with a portion of the profits and to release my story, because like so many of us, I needed to be seen and heard. You, reading this, are why I wrote this book. Just like the book I was drawn to at the age of twenty-four. This book will show up for those who are ready for it and will show up for those again, if they miss it the first time. 2022 was a hard year for everyone. Pretty much every single person I spoke to seemed to be coming head to head with a very negative, dark energy person who seemed content with triggering them into fighting for their self-esteem. It was a year of endings you see. So what happens there is that child wound you have, that one piece of low self-esteem and low self-worth still hanging around, popped up in so many different people so that you could finally put that to bed.
We hear all the time about fighting our demons. What does that even mean? Well in 2022 it was all about that one wound you didn’t want to look at. That last piece of the puzzle. That one situation that changed the course of your entire life, and since then you’ve settled for that kind of relationship which didn’t serve you. The way you spoke to yourself and behaved, it all just stems from that one thing that happened when you were younger. Well, it had to go to my friends. So what happens is, we could have picked up a message that perhaps we have to earn love, or that love isn’t available to us, or that life is hard. So from that moment on, we choose jobs where we work hard, we choose relationships that don’t come easy and we choose love that isn’t available and only offers us crumbs. 2022 was about tackling that one message that changed our entire lives. It was about choosing ‘Us’, finally. It was about really destroying a lot of relationships and patterns that brought us nothing but a narrow and slow existence. Well done. HOW YOGA TRANSFORMED ME. BY BALJIT KHANKE At that time I was required to stop any strenuous exercise or there would be serious life altering implications.
Introducing the beautiful Yoga teacher Baljit Khanke. Baljit talks openly about her own struggles and what lead her into trying yoga to stabilise her own emotions and burnout and why she became a teacher. Katie x I was born and raised in London and graduated in 2015. My yoga journey began in 2016 as a way to supplement my mental health. I came from a very fast paced personal life and career. Due to the fast moving lifestyle I lived, there were increased pressures to be filled. After living the way I did, my immune health suffered and doctors diagnosed me with burnout...
I decided to take action and immersed myself in yoga and self help books. I loved the transformation I began to see. I felt stronger and more centred than ever before. My awareness and mindfulness improved as I got deeper in my yoga journey. I began to live a more fulfilled life. My immune health recovered and for the very first time, I started to read up and care about what exactly was going into my body, mind and soul. I decided to only surround myself with people who were good for my soul and mental health. In 2019, I enrolled on a yoga teaching diploma and qualified in 2021. One of my greatest achievements is to pass on and teach others to connect with their inner self and experience being in the here and now. Yoga is a spiritual practice that reminds us that everything is connected so we must live, act and breathe with awareness, which many have lost in the current times.
For me I had to reach burnout to be reminded to slow down and crystallise a more positive, authentic way to live my life. For other students in my classes, it may be to escape reality, depression, anxiety, poor health, hormonal imbalances and so on. To instill self love, compassion and undo any childhood or adulthood trauma. Whatever the reason may be, practicing yoga improves your self-worth, mental health, boost mindfulness, lifts your mood, helps build muscle and flexibility leading to weight loss. As yoga develops inner awareness as well as physical appearance, this is a complete workout for both the mind and body. Regular yoga practice will enhance your inner awareness, create mental clarity and calmness. You will begin to feel centred, relaxed and relieved from chronic stress. The benefits will continue to extend beyond your mat. I myself have experienced yoga’s healing power in a very real way and transformed my life. Ain't that the truth? Life is all about reactions. What choice do we make when something happens to us? Or perhaps nothing happens to us and we simply just make a choice. This brings up the power of choice regarding consumerism. More specifically, consumerism in the food industry.
Every moment you have a choice, and every choice dictates your destiny on this planet. Do you make the choice briskly without any genuine forethought? Or do you take time to ponder how this decision will impact you and the greater good? Most of us push these critical questions aside and take the spontaneous route out of mere selfishness.
Are you putting your righteous dollar bills towards foods that nourish you and the planet? Yes, some ‘food-like products’ out there taste damn delicious and are much more ‘affordable’ for your wallet than organic produce, health supplements, etc... but are they really affordable? Most of the foods on the shelves in grocery stores, fast-food menus and gas stations are actually quite expensive – They are expensive for your health AND the planet’s. A simple scenario of you waltzing into the grocery store and placing the diverse array of goodies in your cart plays a bigger role in life on earth than you may realize. For instance, you could opt for the dirt cheap, inflammatory deli meat instead of the healthier organic grass-fed beef or pastureraised eggs. You save a couple bucks and you go on your way. Great! But it's not that simple. That same transaction of processed foods week after week not only begins to disrupt your health and your family’s, it transcends to the macrocosm. Without notice, you are affecting the entirety of the planet and all life on earth. The micro becomes the macro; the pieces create the whole. That deli meat wrapped in that plastic packaging came from a distressed cow, turkey, chicken or pig that lived its short life in closed cages, clambering over others, breathing rancid air, sleeping in feces and fed inflammatory chow that isn’t designed for their physiology (i.e. soy for cows even though they’re innately grass-eaters).

When these factory-farmed creatures were alive, they emitted an incomprehensible amount of greenhouse gasses like methane into the atmosphere. Greenhouse gasses absorb infrared radiation and cause the greenhouse effect, which warms the Earth. I could go on and on about the wrong-doings in the produce industry as well with pesticides and tilling of the soil, but I'll spare you from the negativity. Let's talk about what you can do to radiate positivity and promote healthfulness on earth! To keep it simple and straightforward, here is a valuable bulletproof list of things you can begin utilizing today to make your healthy mark on the planet: Compost your food scraps Microbiology thrives on peels, skins, eggshells, coffee grounds, etc. However, this microbiology cannot access these precious nutrientdense compounds to make nutrientdense soil without oxygen and a suitable climate. When we throw our banana peels in the trash to be bagged up and picked up by the dumpster, they are piled under TONS and TONS of layers of garbage that can’t be decomposed. Therefore, they create a ton of methane and other harmful greenhouse gasses that slowly harm the planet, one peel at a time.
Compost your food scraps with a cheap stainless steel bin like one I have on my countertop, and dump it outside with soil and moisture (a place where nature can play its part). Use Reusable Bags Grocery Shopping The more paper or plastic bags you don't jumble up and throw in other plastic trash bags, the healthier you will make the planet and your psyche. Seriously, about ONE TRILLION single-use plastic bags are used annually across the globe. That’s nearly 2 million every minute! Buy Organic Organic, 100% grass-fed meat and plant farming is better for the environment. If you want to reduce pollution and soil erosion, use less water and energy, and increase soil biology then choosing organic is for you! That is why I love permaculture and regenerative farming – it’s what Mother Nature created before the industrial unethical factory farming and cash crop industry exploded. Organic also steers clear from toxic pesticides which kill all the adorable birds, bees and rodent animals nearby. Organic, pasture-raised, wild-caught and grass-fed meats are also suitable for your health. They do not contain harmful antibiotic pumps, growth hormones and sadness in their genes from a crammed, despair-filled life
like their non-organic animal friends. Organic is free from pesticides that wreck our microbiome and cause cancer (look into 'Glyphosate’). Eat Whole Foods (Avoid Ultraprocessed ‘Frankenfoods’!) This one is obvious, and I know that you know this! The more money you put towards the colorfully packaged ‘food-like’ products (you know you shouldn't spend your good-earned money on) the better YOU will feel and the better the PLANET will feel. Vote with your dollar! Live Eco-Conscious When we are sick or ill or feeling under the weather, we tend to make selfish decisions without knowing it, right? I know when I’m feeling rundown, I could care less about the gum (that takes hundreds of years to degrade) I throw out the window. But if I am feeling vibrant and healthy from my workout, my whole-foods smoothie, the sunshine I took advantage of in nature – then I more than likely will not litter. WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR IN THE YEAR AHEAD - 2023 I always felt that 2022 was about completion. It was about loving yourself, learning your boundaries and seeing the inner charm. It was about identifying with yourself what and who you want in it, so it was a year of execution and endings. In 2023, I feel it’s more about intimacy with yourself and the friendships and relationships that survived 2022. It’s about depth and nurture. In 2023 I would expect you to be feeling safer, more optimistic and braver. It’s a year where you really start to practise what you preached in 2022 and really step out of your comfort zone to pursue everything you always felt was true. I suspect this is the year where you become
bold, you exercise what is in your heart and it's about building anew. With 2022 being such a final year, 2023 will be about redecorating your life. So many of my clients were all going through the same thing in 2022. They were really putting their foot down and ending relationships that they had been in for such a long time. All of a sudden they just weren’t taking the hot and cold behaviour anymore, or they were seeing that this long-term relationship that never really offered much wasn’t right anymore and more importantly, they were really willing to fight for themselves in all of that. They were cutting cords and re-evaluating who and what
was in their life. I always see years like that as time where you redecorate. If you think about when you redecorate your home, you get rid of the old furniture before you buy the new furniture right, otherwise there’s no where to put it. So this year, expect new furniture. Expect new people and relationships that resonate with your new found love of self, and expect opportunities and jobs or projects to just really resonate with you. Expect to sing! I love you,

The Four Tips Here are my top 4 tips for making realistic goals to focus on for 2023:
1) List your goals. Prepare a list of simple and achievable goals. 2) List the reasons behind each plan. Understanding why you are hoping to achieve these goals can help with motivation and recognising your unconscious drive based on your beliefs and values. 3) Give yourself a deadline. Put a time frame in place for each goal by putting an exact date that you would like to achieve the goal next to each target. 4) Track your progress. Revise your goals routinely, even every week if you can, and measure the achievement. Goal setting to live the life you've dreamed of can be hard work and requires constant attention, but by having the right strategies and putting in the effort, you will reach every goal! Michael is here to help you invest, budget, save and more… Katie x The past two and a half years have been extraordinary, and it does feel like the world has and is changing under our feet. During times like these, it’s important to zoom out, especially when our thought process becomes more tuned to what is happening in the immediate. In my experience, New Year's Resolutions don’t work. Setting a structured and believable plan is more likely to stick and understanding why you are doing it, and the outcome it leads to, is the driver you need. It took me a number of years to understand the power of Outcome. Rather than thinking I want to save more, I now start with what those savings will provide for me, how
much better my life will be, how financial stress will be reduced, the beaches I will walk on. Whatever you need to see, feel and own, starts with the outcome and then begins with a plan. Just remember, no one buys a drill because they want a drill, what they want is a hole in a wall. The outcome drives the action. Understanding your income Firstly, make sure you know your average monthly income. This is important in understanding your monthly cash flow, to avoid running out of money before you run out of month. If you’re self-employed, work on a conservative average, rather than good months. Fixed Expenses These are the important ones, as they represent basic needs, (rent or mortgage, utilities, broadband, phones, insurance and debt payments). Variable Expenses These will include discretionary
expenses such as entertainment, eating out, shopping, travel etc. To work these out, you have to be honest with yourself and go back through old cards and bank statements. This is the important part, because these are often the ones that get put on credit cards and the ones that you can (should) cut back if times get harder. Emergency fund We all like holidays, presents and days out. We don’t often plan for these, so will either be paid via some form of credit. An emergency fund can help you to avoid selling assets at potentially depressed times and prices, as well as keeping you financially afloat in unforeseen life circumstances, such as a change in your or a loved one’s employment situation. A general rule-of-thumb for an emergency fund is saving three to six months’ worth of living expenses in a safe, liquid account. Doing the sums Time to be honest, if you start with a budget as close to reality as possible, this will help to avoid those credit cards growing rather than falling.

"TACKLING DEBT IS A SKILL WORTH LEARNING. EACH TIME YOU USE CREDIT, YOU REDUCE YOUR FOLLOWING MONTH’S AVAILABLE INCOME." In business, there are 2 important adages; Lack of profit destroys you slowly, Lack of cash flow destroys you instantly. If you treat your finances the same, it will get you in a much stricter and focused mindset. If you have very little left over each month, that’s not a problem in the short-term, but putting things on credit before payday is a downward spiral. Tackling debt Tackling debt is a skill worth learning. Each time you use credit, you reduce your following month’s available income. Even if you’re already good about managing debt, consider taking steps to help reduce it further, such as using raises or year-end bonuses to reduce balances with high interest rates. Think about consolidating any remaining debt, which may help you swap varying interest rates on multiple loans, credit lines or cards,
for a potentially lower rate on a single loan. Reducing the number of loans you carry can also help simplify your financial life and ease money stress, just watch for the charges, as low interest rates sometimes hide high charges. Prioritise and review Stopping to check progress is important, just make sure it is a relevant timescale to avoid thinking you are not moving forward: *Monthly for a brief update and reset if required. *6-monthly for a more in-depth check-up. These do not have to be on your own, use an accountant or financial adviser. The most successful people work with advisers, coaches and joint ventures all the time. Taking advice is one of the most important things to do, and it can also be the most challenging, as it will mean working out your goals, setting them and working towards them.
Look further ahead The most important aspect of longer term planning is retirement. For me, this means the point at which I can rely on savings or investments to provide income, so I am not 100% reliant on a job. Retirement is about options and giving your ‘future self’ those options, means planning. The main sources tend to be building a rental property portfolio and investment portfolios. Other longerterm planning can also include deposit for buying a home or building a fund for children (education or their own home). Wellbeing (personal and financial) These two are often intrinsically linked, most of my work over the last 26 years has been helping people unravel previous financial decisions and helping clients to make new ones. The new year can be an opportunity to continue prioritising your

personal and financial wellness. Consider taking advantage of any employer wellness resources for physical, mental or financial health. Many companies offer financialeducation programs and digital learning tools, which can supplement the advice you receive from a Financial Advisor. If you are a small business owner, I recommend networking or coworking events, as these put you in touch with other business owners. During tough times, shared experiences and solutions are much easier to see, when you change your environment. Make it matter to you We tend to be more successful with decisions and goal setting, when it aligns with your values and beliefs. Whether you’re interested in enhancing diversity at companies, tackling climate change, helping to alleviate poverty or pursuing other causes, you can build a portfolio that adds impact to your investments while also potentially generating positive financial returns.
Finally, my view of the world Annually we set out our thoughts and expectations for the future, which we share with clients to help them build their plans and understand the world in which they are making those financial plans.

Here are some snippets for 2023, which I feel we all need to take into account: Demographics are changing, our prior young world will evolve into an aging, urban world, where inequality within countries may increasingly challenge the social fabric.
The march of urbanisation has led to an additional two billion people living in cities, meaning city dwellers outnumber those living in rural areas (56% of the global population is urban). The world is ageing as never before as a result of declining fertility and rising life expectancy. Globally, the world has reached the plateau of “peak child”, it is unlikely that there will ever be many more under-fives alive than there are today. Africa, conversely, will be the source of more than half of global population growth in the coming decades. By the early 2030s, the continent is expected to have a larger working-age population than China or India. The world will continue to urbanise. In 2021, the world hit “peak rural”—all future population growth is projected to come from urban centres, as rural populations decline. North America is projected to gain 13 large cities by 2035, Africa and Asia are expected to gain about 50 and 100, respectively. The world changes and so does investment opportunities. Global needs often mean new industries, new skills and ultimately new ways to create wealth and stability. Transversal technologies, such as applied AI (Artificial Intelligence), bioengineering, and immersivereality technologies, are attracting tens and hundreds of billions of dollars of annual investment. In the digitally saturated world, frontier technologies such as the metaverse will begin to enter the mainstream. AI in particular, has a wide range of potential applications, which some claim will underpin a Fourth Industrial Revolution. AI innovation, as

measured by AI-based patent applications, grew at a rate of more than 75 percent a year between 2015 and 2022. Spending on renewables will need to ramp up at four times the 2015–22 rate to be on the path to net zero. Oil drilling has not responded to recent high prices as markedly as in the past, likely due to concerns about fossil fuel investment. Looking for a source of optimism is that many breakthrough technologies are moving from science fiction to reality, there is the building of small modular nuclear reactors; the first US final certification of such a design is likely to be issued this year.

WHY I AM SINGLE AND LOVING IT. Introducing the masterful Claire Duncan, who takes you through the benefits of being single. It's a great angle on why you should be taking time off from the dating arena and focusing on your independent happiness. Katie x ‘Single and Loving it’ or left on the shelf, an old maid or spinster! The latter are all societal labels that for years have been attached to women not in a relationship, suggesting it’s not a choice or desire that anyone would want rather than something we can embrace. However, with 40% of the adult population in the UK now being single you’ll find more like myself have chosen to be single and are truly loving the single life plus the benefits it brings.

Personally, I find that with this comes the freedom to decide who I want to be, what I truly want in life and the ability to do it. I get to choose how I can reach the full potential life has to offer, how I spend my time, who I spend it with, how I feel and so much more. One of the most positive aspects of being single is the relationship I have built with myself. The one person you are guaranteed to spend your whole life with…is yourself. I wanted to get to know myself better, I questioned what I really desired from life, created vision boards and action plans, worked on my mindset, self-worth and values so that I can truly thrive in the life I have. I’ve learnt how to look inside myself, encourage and lift my mood when needed, compliment and love myself exactly the way I am. Treating myself is also such an important aspect too. Whether it’s buying myself a bunch of flowers, lighting candles and filling the tub with luxurious bubbles for a long soak with a good book and a glass of wine, getting dressed up for a lazy lunch in a café flicking through some magazines, going to see the latest movie (you get to eat all the popcorn), a girl’s night out, being single doesn’t need to be boring or lonely. It’s a time to do all the things YOU want to do. Strong friendships are incredibly important to me, and I find they enrich my life in so many ways. I now get to spend more quality time with the people who really matter to me and I’m not afraid to step away from friendships that no longer serve or bring me joy. I’ve found new friends with shared interests such as my Sunday walking group – who knew a long walk in the rain talking about everything and anything and a nice coffee along

It was through conversations with friends and my desire to push my entrepreneurial side that I decided to create “Single & Loving It.” Initially I wanted to create a fun and friendly community to support and encourage other women in their single lives. I created an online Facebook group where single women can freely share their experiences, general chat, exchange thoughts and ideas, ask questions or advice over their concerns in a safe and friendly space. From this and the conversations around treating ourselves came my idea to create a subscription box for single women full of those gifts, goodies and treats we deserve but so often don’t indulge, delivered to the door on a monthly basis. My vision for the future is to build this side hustle into a profitable business and build on the fantastic community for like-minded women where we can thrive in life and create our own happiness and love as a singleton. Whether you are single, want to be single, stay single or want to find a relationship, learning to realise your potential, becoming the best version of yourself, strengthening your self-worth, and getting clear on what it is you really want from life is key and will then ripple into all areas of your life. A new year is a new start and a great excuse to start something new. No one's going to question it or be shocked by your new dedication, because let’s face it, ‘It’s a new year’. So jump on it! That drink you wanted to give up on, that self-care routine you wanted to commit to and that workout regime you’ve been meaning to slot into your daily routine? Stick it in and use the New Year as something to be accountable for. New energy is also at play here. As a collective consciousness, us humans are pretty much all on the same page, so expectations and projections are far and wide. So use all of that high-energy to really start to support you and bring it into your experience. How you do that is routine and commitment. The fresh month, the fresh year and the fresh expectations have all built quite a lovely momentum, so be sure to tune in, turn it up and lock into it.

THE REBIRTH OF MY SPIRIT Introducing the remarkable Lynea Houston, who went from strength to strength and took her life back via fitness. She opens up about her struggles and shows you how to get back on your feet. Katie x I always wanted to have a career in the fitness world, ever since I joined an all-women's gym back in 2009. I also wanted to become an author, writing about the chronicles of raising a child on the autism spectrum. For 13 years I struggled, raising 3 children now teenagers, jumping from job to job, car repos, trying to maintain some sort of normalcy in my life being a single mother. I started doing things to my body that no woman should ever have to, to make ends meet. I had little to no hope in pursuing my goals and dreams of becoming a fitness trainer and author. I wanted to be to others what my trainers were to me, a place of acceptance and being comfortable in their skin.
The more that I struggled, the more those goals and dreams started to fade in the background.
Considering all the circumstances I had experienced up until this point in my life, I still thanked God that I did not look like what I had been through or was going through during those hard times. By this time, I had been evicted several times, in and out of toxic relationships, served 30 days in county jail, and living wherever we could lay our heads. I was still in the race, fighting the good fight with God on my side.
In 2018 I was clinically diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and bi-polar depression (BPD). Immediately, I put myself in the category of being labeled ‘crazy’ because after all, the stereotype is anyone with bipolarism was considered just that. My diagnosis was no surprise. I had experienced a childhood trauma that left me feeling hopeless about life, but also gave me insight on the decisions I had made over time.
By March 2022, I started back at the gym and working out at home to help combat my diagnoses and the feeling of depression and anxiety. I learned through prayer groups, and independent Bible studies, all the negative thoughts that entered my head telling me that I was not good enough or worthy of pursuing and obtaining my fitness certification were only the enemy. God spoke to me and said, “Why NOT you?” I am a child of God and had every right and

opportunity to go after the desires of my heart. But first I had to give up some things in the process. I made a conscious decision to fast from dating because that seemed to be one of many common denominators in my life. I quit smoking and started to get on One Accord with God, acknowledging His son, Christ Jesus as my Lord, and Savior. In June 2022, I released my first book, an anthology, “I Am Stronger Than the Storm” becoming an international best-selling author in the US and in the UK, with a group of women who some have become more like big sisters. That caused a little turmoil amongst those close to me, but I stood my ground and persevered through that storm. ‘No longer will I live in silent’ is the movement I created for myself to get me through.

Working out was always therapeutic for me, in addition to seeing my therapist whom I started seeing in 2018. MOVING ON: WHAT IS MULTIGENERATIONAL TRAUMA?
Multi-generational trauma might be something that you have heard of before or seen mentioned in an article, but what does it mean for you wanting to start the new year afresh?
"IF YOU HAVE NOTICED IN YOURSELF THAT YOU ARE REPEATING PATTERNS OR BEHAVIOURS THAT HAVE BEEN LEARNT FROM YOUR PARENTS OR GRANDPARENTS, THEN IT IS TIME TO BREAK THE CYCLE."
If you have ever wondered why there are certain beliefs that you have or repeating behaviours, it can be down to multigenerational trauma. If you were to look back further into our upbringing and then even past
that, to our parents and grandparents, we can often see why. Multi-generational trauma can stem from grandparents but it can go much further back than that.
We welcome back Jess from The Wellbeing Hut, the place of calm and support where you can unpack your trauma and find the information and tools you need to get back on your feet. Here we find out what Multi-Generational Trauma really is and how we can move on from it. Katie x
Multi-Generational Trauma and You As an example, you might know that one of your greatgrandparents had a difficult relationship. There could have been affairs and alcohol misuse involved. The child in this relationship, your grandparent, will have been witness to this and seen and felt it. They will also see the impact that this can have between their parents, as well as their own relationship with their parents. Growing up, this could have then impacted them in a negative way, affecting their relationships as they grew up, as well as how they get on with family and siblings; that is just the start. The child, your grandparent, then

"IT IS THEN ABOUT BREAKING DOWN THE EXPECTATIONS AND BARRIERS IN ORDER TO GET TO THE TRUE YOU." went on to get married, and it happened to be to someone who had also grown up with a similar situation. Subconsciously, this could mean that they replay their experiences as it has been a learned behaviour. Then any children born to this couple, one of your parents, will have a similar experience, or perhaps a slightly different one. Your grandparents could have been feeling insecure about each other, one may be more controlling than the other, and one might belittle the other in front of other people. If your grandparents then went through a tricky divorce, then this is all something that your now teenage parent would have witnessed. They might get into a relationship that isn’t a good fit but they feel that is just what relationships are like as that is
what they have witnessed. If the parent then felt that there was too much anxiety or high expectations placed on them to be perfect or for the other person to be, it has a knockon impact for future relationships. Moving Forward From the Impact of Multi-Generational Trauma If you have noticed in yourself that you are repeating patterns or behaviours that have been learnt from your parents or grandparents, then it is time to break the cycle. A new year can bring the change and chance for a fresh start, working to move away from the trauma that you may have experienced, physical or psychological. If you are looking to break the cycle, then you might decide to go to
therapy as it is more available and less stigmatised compared to what it once was. It then becomes not just one story but can be so many more. It is then about breaking down the expectations and barriers in order to get to the true you. To then look at how it's affecting you in your everyday life; how to go through what serves you and doesn't. Learning to let go of what doesn't work for you and then keeping what does. Multi-generational trauma doesn’t have to define you. You can make changes and adjust what you want to do with your life. You just need to make the first step into making a change, and then you will be moving forward with positivity, for those in your family and those around you. Written By: Jess Farazmand

Katie x Happy New Year beautiful people! Looking back over the last few years, I can say that I have been changed. Most people complained about COVID and what happened in the Pandemic. For me, the pandemic is where I found my fire! My fire to be different, to be the difference and to serve more, in order to help people become the difference. Tambra’s Tea: I wasn’t always this light bright burst of energy. My back story is addiction, low self-esteem, off and on depression, like a bad relationship and anxiety as high as Mount Everest! I was even hit by an SUV, which left me with chronic pain and pins in my ankles, which brought my stiletto strut to a screeching halt! Being mostly confined to my home and more specifically, my bed, for two years, I restarted my life. I started reading up on me, learning me, and studying me. I would stare at the person in the mirror and question her thoughts about herself and then question the validity of those thoughts. I was on a mission to be the REAL me.
