As a commuter student, you’re part of a unique group of students who choose to continue their education while living at home. You’re familiar with the University of Dayton and the surrounding area, which allows you to help other students find their way. However, college is a new experience for all students, including those who choose to commute. New Student Orientation will prepare you to be successful in this new environment.
Events at the UD Arena
New Student Orientation will officially begin with the Opening Ceremony at the UD Arena on Saturday, August 16, 2008, from 2 to 3 p.m. You and your family are invited to join the entire first-year class and their families as Dr. Curran and New Student Orientation’s student leaders welcome you to UD. Parents and families are encouraged to remain at the UD Arena following the Opening Ceremony for the Parent and Family Welcome by UD’s Provost and Vice President for Student Development, as well as the Parent and Family Resource Fair. If you will be driving on your own, you will need to drive yourself to campus after the Opening Ceremony for the Commuter Student Welcome. You may park in the College Park Center lot indicated on the map on the reverse side of this page. If you ride with your parents to the UD Arena, you will be bused to campus following Opening Ceremony.
