appy’s gourmet chocolate was established in 1965 by Kathryn Connelly. Better
known as “Kappy,” throughout her lifetime, Connelly always had a deep love for cooking, and more importantly, chocolate. With the help of her three sisters, Kappy eventually saved enough money to purchase her own shop in the heart of her hometown, Vermilion, Ohio. Kappy and her sisters spent their summer days at the chocolate shop, creating new and exciting treats. “Kappy’s” quickly became a household name and a local favorite, serving a vast selection including truffles, licorice, macaroons, caramel, and taffy. Kappy devoted her entire life to creating chocolate. Known for concocting original and unusual flavors, Kappy was still able to maintain a sense of familiarity, comfort and class within her creations. After her death in 2006, Kappy’s sisters and daughter Katie have taken sole responsibility of the brand. Kappy’s has become one of the most widely recognized chocolate companies in the nation and is still rapidly expanding.

uring her lifetime, Kappy thoroughly searched the world to
locate the finest cocoa, fruits, nuts and other ingredients. After years of experimenting, Kappy skillfully blended the ingredients together to create the distinctive favorites that exist today. Keeping traditions alive, Kappy’s still prides itself on using only the finest ingredients from all over the world. Kappy’s only relies on gathering cocoa beans from the coast of Africa and Venezuela, in order to ensure the best quality. Unlike other gourmet brands, Kappy’s chocolate is not processed in various production facilities, rather it is made from scratch at each and every one of our locations.

fter 49 years of service, Kappy’s is thrilled to announce
the brand’s expansion into the global market through the introduction of its gourmet dessert line. Expected to launch in March 2015, a series of new locations will open throughout the North and South America and Europe. Do not panic! All of Kappy’s original classics will still be available for purchase along with new, distinctive and delicious works of edible art will also be available.

will allow audiences to expand upon their experience at Kappy’s by allowing them to sit down, enjoy their company and savor scrumptious treats they have grown to adore. When our customers take a bite of our product, we want them to be apart of the whimsical, happy and imaginative world Kappy created back in 1965. The gourmet dessert line will only enhance this customer experience.
