#BLESSEDalcc What is “blessed”? How do I respond to a blessing? Can I be a blessing to others? What if I don’t feel blessed? “Whoever trusts in the LORD, HAPPY is he. 640 Grosvenor St. Lon. Ont N5Y 3T4 519-858-4123 #abundantlife_london

God with us….“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge God and He will make your pathway straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 Over the years, I have stood on the promises of Proverbs 3:5-6. Also, I have spoken these verses in the pulpit. Sometimes emphasizing trusting God, other times, don’t try to understand and still at times, looking at what straight paths look like. Recently, I have a new inspiration around this passage. Here it is: God is with us regardless of where life takes us. Now why is this important? When I stop trying to figure life out on my terms and simply enjoy the process of God working in my life, it seems to me, that is when I carry a great deal of less stress. I trust God more. I stop trying to figure things out when life is confusing. Then I look back and see the favor of God. Abundant Life, please continue to pray for our future. Over the last few weeks, I have been in several meetings and dreaming about what a Community Life Centre may look like. Your prayers have been answered, because a number of doors are starting to rattle and crack open. Please don’t stop praying and I will keep walking with the Lord on the wings of your prayers. In time, I look forward to sharing with you the great things God is doing as a result of prayer. I can’t tell you how much of a difference it is making in our church and the future. Praying with you! PB and Kathy Growing up, I played minor hockey. I learned a lot of life lessons during those years. I’ve always been a winger. I shoot left so I was a left winger. This one time, my coach Wilkins said that I’d play on the ring wing. I started overanalyzing every reason why I shouldn’t. I shoot left. I never played there before. “I” this and “I” that. It’s called playing on your off-wing. We were in the middle of the game so there was no time. Coach Wilkins said, “Trust me, do what I say and you’ll see.” I listened to him and my new line went out there and I was on the right wing. We won the face off and the puck was dumped on the left side. I fought the urge of familiarity and stayed on the right side. I skated with my stick open towards the net. I received a quick sauce pass right on my tape and I shot a one time right in that open net. Goal! We celebrated and I went back on the bench where I couldn’t stop taking about how I was a right winger from now on. Which I still am. Hebrew 12:20-21 (ESV), “20 Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, 21 equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” We can rest assured that Jesus leads us, equips us, transforms us to the people that God call us to be. As we trust, our great shepherd, who is faithful and walks with us, He will do everything to see us do His work. He’ll encourage us, nudge us and show us that He sees you and your full potential in Him. We may have to fight the urges but it’s better than fighting God while He is showing us who we truly are in Jesus. It’s that spiritual disciplined of submission (Luke 22:42; Psalm 143:10; John 13:1-17; Matthew 12:50; Acts 21:14; Ephesians 6:6; James 4:15; 1 John 2:17) Jesus may seem like our coach. Trust Him. Do what He says. And you’ll see! Be encouraged. Right Wing All Star, Tony Mejia

12 Step Recovery Program Based on Matthew 5:2-12 (The Beatitudes) STEP 9: SELF DISCIPLINE We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. Some of us become so focused on our personal failures in recovery that we don’t deal with the pain we have suffered at the hands of others. Some of us, on the other hand, focus too much on the ways we have been mistreated and use these as excuses for our behavior. Either approach to past abuse leaves us with emotional baggage that will hinder our progress in recovery. Forgiving others is an important part of turning our will over to God. Jesus taught his disciples: “Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored. May your kingdom come soon. May your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven. Give us our food for today, and forgive those who have sinned against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.” (Matthew 6: 9-15).

Being forgiven for the wrongs we have done to others does not excuse us from our actions or make our actions right. When we forgive others of the wrongs they have committed against us, we do not excuse what they have done. We simply recognize that we have been hurt unjustly and turn the matter over to God. This helps us face the truth about our own pain. It also rids us of any excuse to continue our compulsive behavior because of what has been done to us. Come and join us on Thursday evening @ 7:00 p.m. to begin the process of experiencing freedom from the hurts, habits and hang-ups from your past.
