Campus News: Bath St What a week we are having! Lots and lots of concert practice in readiness for tonight and tomorrow night. There are a lot of excited children and a few anxious teachers. Yesterday s rehearsal was a lot of fun and the concert items from Bath Street will steal the show!

STUDENT ILLNESS We have had a terrible time with illness over the last couple of weeks. One day we had as many as 60 children absent from class. Please keep an eye on your little ones as there are flu germs, tummy bugs and chicken pox around at the moment. If your children are unwell we would appreciate if you would keep them at home until they are well enough to stay for a whole day at school.

AUSKICK CLINICS A big thank you to Mr Typuszak, Mr Gosling and Ms Ash for the Wednesday afternoon Auskick clinics which have been running since Term 2. Yesterday was the last of the clinics and the children have developed some great AFL skills. We have now completed out footy season. Thank you to all the children who took part and to all the parents who helped out. Many Thanks Sam Typuszak, Mr Tom Gosling & Ms Ash.

FAREWELL FATHER NICK The staff at Bath Street said farewell to Father Nick at morning tea on Tuesday. We presented Father Nick with a small gift in gratitude for his work with our campus and wished him well as he moves to his new appointment in Sydney.

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION The parents of the students receiving their First Communion in October will have a meeting next Thursday in the Bath Street Hall. Father Van will speak about the families responsibilities as primary faith educators, and the scripture background surrounding the Eucharist. The meeting will commence at 6pm. On Sunday 4th September, the first communicants and their families will join the parish as they present their commitment cards to the congregation. This special celebration also falls on Father s Day, so we invite all Bath Street families to join us for this occasion.

VISIT TO THE ROAD SAFETY CENTRE On Tuesday August 30, Rooms 14 and 17 are visiting the Newland Park Road Safety Centre. Road Safety Officer Ivan will speak to the students about road and bicycle safety. Students will learn about the importance of always wearing a helmet when riding, ensuring their bicycle is well-maintained and following road rules. Students will then be able to apply their knowledge in a practical situation, riding bicycles on the miniature road system, complete with stop signs, pedestrian crossings and traffic lights. I m sure they will have a great time!

FIRST FRIDAY MASS Please join us next Friday 2nd September as we celebrate our First Friday Mass in the church at 9.00am.

COLLEGE FETE Please keep the donations coming for the College Fete as we near the three week mark. The raffle books will come home next week and we ask you to sell your tickets as soon as possible. I hope to see lots of you at the concert. It will be an entertaining couple of nights. Janis Paterson Head of Campus
