DESIGN STATEMENT I believe designers are given the opportunity to shape the world into functional, appropriate, and aesthetically pleasing environments. However, I see interior design as more than creating a space. I see it as appreciating culture: traveling, listening, and interpreting local habits and needs into a space that is not only efficient, but productive and nurturing.

LITERARY CENTER CASE STUDY ARCHITECTURAL DRAWING & RENDERING

DIAGRAMS & DRAWINGS These drawings document the facade and interior of the Walnut Hills Public Library. All hand drawn to scale, they articulate the symmetrical nature of the space as defined by the marche. It’s exterior Doric columns lead inward to the classic spatial order.

MAUSOLEUM RENDERING HAND SKETCHING & PHOTOSHOP

DRAWING ITERATIONS These drawings depict a concept exploration of form, space, and scale. From the first hand drawn sketch to the final rendering pass, this project introduced me to new hand and digital techniques. Placement and scale of figures was also an important component of this exploration. EUM

USOL WIFT MA S S G IG R B

HAND DRAWING Traced from a photograph, this hand drawing served as the basis for my mausoleum rendering.

FIRST PASS Quick Photoshopping and hand rendering lead to this layer of higher contrast and detail.

FINAL RENDER Collaging images and figures rendered the final product. I chose to highlight the ethereal quality of the mausoleum.

WORKPLACE OF THE FUTURE This studio project included researching industry trends, furniture design, and rendering office spaces. After visiting multiple furniture vendors and manufacturing centers, I selected trends that reflect the technology of tomorrow. Using these key ideas, I created a dynamic and mobile furniture system for tomorrow’s office space. I then took these pieces and rendered them within a sustainable space (next page).
