Remarks: All grace notes should appear before the beat. Strings: Unless it is stated differently, the music should be played non vibrato. >>>>> - a “scratch” sound, produced by extreme pressure of the bow. All glissandos appearing in the piece are to be played smoothly (without an accent on any of the pitches), unless one of the notes is written with an accent. Glissandos may be notated differently: finish glissando on given (small note) pitch, with a decrescendo and as if not stopping at the end equal dynamic and articulation balance between beginning and finishing note

hold the first note until given moment (in this case – second beat in the measure), and then start glissando, without any accent while starting it.

The title of the piece is a fragment of a poem by Paul Celan “Les Globes” (English translation: Michael Hamburger): In the eyes all awry - read there: the sun, the heart orbits, the whizzing, lovely In Vain. The deaths and all that to which they gave birth. The chain of generations that lies buried here and hangs here still, in the aether, and borders abysses. All the script on those faces into which whirring word-sand drilled itself - tiny eternities, syllables. All things, even the heaviest, were fledged, nothing held back.
